Edward, you look scarily like my ex-boyfriend, except paler and with yummy makeup. I'm yet to decide whether this is good or bad, though the eyeliner will probably work in your favour.

Delecti, you are deeply delectable. I may have to eat you.

I hope it's a good thing, I would hate for that to ruin our relationship.... which as far as I know is this conversation.

No problem; my hair is extremely hard to tease as well.

If you have very fine hair (like myself), what you want to do is crimp it first, then do a light spray of Aquanet (purple can) before doing anything.

Then, instead of using a regular teasing comb like you'd find at any pharmacy, use one from a hair supply store (like Sally's) with the teeth as close to eachother as possible.

It's just a matter of regular teasing from there. Start at the root, and work your way out; you may have to do it a couple times if your hair is being especially difficult.

You may have to do without conditioner the day before and the day you plan on teasing your hair. Conditioner is your worst enemy when teasing hair in general; even if it helps keep your hair on your head the day after.

Hope that helps!

I find the best way to tease hair is take a section, back comb, and spray the base. Repeat with all of the other sections. Once complete, section out your hair they way you want it to be sectioned. To decrease volume, comb a bit of it out. Once you have the desired look, give it an overall spray. I recommend aussie freeze. It seems to work pretty good.

Really, the biggest difference between goths and deathrockers was that goths used Aquanet, and deathrockers used Rave. :-D

Seriously though, I totally agree with you one spraying it down with something more salon-quality once you're done. Hot summer nights (or clubs in general) can really deflate your hair in a quickness otherwise.

I've never used Aquanet or Rave. I'll have to try them sometime. Aussie Freeze is like $6 at the pharmacy. I bought salon grade hairspray once. What a waste of $25. I was sadly let down.

I don't do too much with my natural hair. My clubbing hair is generally synthetic.

Wow, that's way too much! :-D I don't know if you can get Aquanet down there, but it should run you less than $3 US a bottle. I use "Freeze-It" for a finishing touch; it costs me about $5 a bottle.

I'm not partial to Rave myself, but I have an older friend in NY who swears by it. I think it's too sticky and hard to mold; and the iconic purple can turns me into a moth to it's light. ;-)
