Dark, but not "goth"

so out of curiousity, are there any folks in here who dress themselves in darker colors and themes, without really being "gothic"? if yeah, where do you guys prefer to shop? what do you look for in clothing/etc.

i shop mostly at vintage stores, thrift shops, and Forever 21. almost everything i own is some shade of white, black, or grey, and over half of it's older than i am. some of my favorite pieces include a faded denim vest from Gap, a vintage 50's corset dress(which i pin up considerably shorter), an 80's leather biker vest, light gray cutoffs, and my various tunic-length tank tops. Jewelry wise, i usually sport this vintage lion bracelet, a large gold-plated ankh on a long chain, an obscene amount of swarovski-studded feather clips and such, an even more obscene amount of bracelets, bangles, etc., and my chucks.

your turn~

^ You've pretty much got the idea, but I think a lot of people also do a lot of DIY.

Ebay and Etsy are also good, depending on the style you're going for.

How you dress doesn't make you a goth.

Says the dude who looks explicitly like a fucking gawth.

Truth be told, I'm rather over it, honestly. I wear dark colors, but found that fashion was more about attitude and poise instead of what you're actually wearing. I can get away with a pair of blue jeans and a DIY'd tee shirt and look DAMN good.

When weather permits, I do like corduroy pants, dress shirts, and vests in various shades of purple, green, gray, black, and navy. In the winter, I'm bloody smokin'.

But being Goth is about finding beauty in the darkness, simply put. Dressing is just one aspect of it.

I just cover my skin. I wear either ALL BLACK, or ALL WHITE.
Long sleeve, skinny jeans, scarf, plain colored shoes.

My hair is currently a long emo-swoop, but i am getting it cut this weekend, so hopefully i'll get something that doesn't take 2hrs and 3 different kinds of conditioners to keep looking good.

Sometimes i'll wear all black and throw in a white scarf and gloves just for the contrast. Or wear all white and wear black scarf and gloves.

When it isn't boiling hot here, I try to wear coats, but it rarely gets cold enough for the to not die in a coat.
