Call me Saphy

I am going to try this with out getting eaten alive.

Hmm, eaten alive.

Could be fun.

Maybe I should save that for #7.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I am an assistant manager for a C-store. A job I loathe but it pays the
bills and will fund my future career. When I am not at work I am a game
playing, photoshop learning, net searching insomniac. My passion right
now is to get a decent sewing machine so I can start making apparel.
My head is filled with ideas that need to become reality.

2. Where are you from?
Just outside the greater Des Moines, Iowa area.

3. Who is your favorite author?
I read a lot of books. I have no one favorite. I will pretty much read
anything set in front of me. If it doesn't bore me with in the first three
pages I will finish it.

4. What are your favorite films?
Horror movies. Cheesy B horror flicks are my favorite. The worse they are
the better. Film Noir. Musicals. Think Busby Berkley on up.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Pffft. No thanks. Not again.

6. At your funeral?
HA! What a dork I am. The only thing that comes to mind is the funeral
dirge "Poor Judd is dead" from Oklahoma.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Trash: Do you ever wonder about all the different ways of dying?
You know, violently? And wonder, like, what would be the most horrible
way to die?
Spider: I try not too think about dying too much.
Trash: Mm. Well for me, the worst way would be for a bunch of old men
to get around me, and start biting and eating me alive.
Spider: I see.
Trash: First, they would tear off my clothes...
Chuck: Hey, somebody get some light over here, Trash is taking off her
clothes again.

That pretty much sums it up.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
No casket. I want my body placed in a Viking ship, set on fire and towed
out to sea.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
Pinstripe pencil skirt, black lace stockings, white shirt with Edwardian
cuffs, black busier over that, wide black silk tie with a brooch or stick pin I
got from my Grandmother. Shoes? So many shoes and boots, so little
time.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Being ones self with judgement of others.

11. What's your favorite band?
I have very diverse tastes. Anything from Jazz to Blues, to Classical, to
Opera, to Rock, to Heavy Metal. You get the picture.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Fashion Merchandising. I wanted to work in Display. Now I just want to
design and sew.

13. Why did you join?
Ran across you all while scouring the net for DIY. Read other things on
the boards and was re-awakened to the me I used to be. Now there will
be two middle aged Goths in Des Moines. Me and my hairdresser.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female.

Hi Saphy!

I don't know if I would consider myself a fan, but I have and do listen to them sometimes. Amy Lee does have an incredible voice.

Thanks for the Welcome.

Well aren't you the lucky one.
Hope you have things straightened out and don't end up like my cousin with a reserved room at Fort Madison.

Ahh, okay. I was wondering because of your avatar..
And I agree about Amy's voice.

You're very welcome.

Arashi, I use that because that's how I feel. So many people are so busy trying to trying to make others fit their idea of normal, beautiful, socially acceptable, etc... The whole you must conform concept. I was trapped in that box for far too many years.

Except for the fact that most people running around claiming to challenge "The forced mold of beauty" really conform to it as well, just with a different aesthetic.

Wanna know a true challenge of beauty?
Pierce your face until it literally resembles a pin-cushion, and then wear a completely formless dress with combat boots.

I think I'm going to like you, though. Excuse the prior bluntness.

Hi. Wlecome... man I suck at meeting people for the first time. Have you seen the movie Perfume: The Story of a Murderer?

Hello, Saphy. Have you seen Final Destination? My sister Emily has it on DVD. I think she used to have a crush on Devon Sawa.

Reasons why I should love you:
1. You quoted 'Return of the Living Dead' in your intro.
2. Due to my favourite Thai restaurant being called Saffy's (in its abbreviated version) your nickname will forever remind me of delicious food.
3. You sew.
4. Your fashion taste sounds absolutely fabulous.

Yay!

I used to want a viking burial.

My hat is off to you.

Now I want a coffin made of riveted sheet metal, with a bell, just in case I'm a dead-ringer.
