Your Brushes With Celebrities/Fame

What kind of brushes have you had with celebrities or fame?

Back when I was 4 years old I was in a commercial for a school called “Speech & Language Development”. I was their Kindergarten class and one day on my big red wheel, this team of Cameramen were following me. Next thing I know when I was at home my brought me into the living room and said “See that’s you on TV.” It was on some crappy UHF channel. The thing that pissed me off was I didn’t see one dime.

In mid ‘80s My family took me on the annual family trip to big bear. I was playing with my brother and sister when this little boy came to play with us. Not so long after that this blonde girl who was the sister and around my age started to play with us. About a half-hour into playing tag she said, “You know I was in Poltergeist?” It took me a while to put two and two together but she was Heather O'Rourke. Most kids would have peed their pants at this point and would have asked her for her autograph or something like that. I just appreciated the situation for what it was. She left with her brother a half-hour after that when the mom picked them up in a van to take them to them somewhere. I only spent a hour with her but it was fun.

My next touch with fame was with Phil Hendrie. His show was the first radio program I took seriously. The cool part for me was he didn’t read my e-mail on the air once or twice but three times. Then towards the end of his show I even called in. He had a radio contest and was giving away his show notes. If you want to know what happens next please listen. (Please note the enthusiam in my voice and no I did not take a valium. Lol)

The Phil Hendrie Show June 21, 2006 Hour 3 (Trivia Contest Full Segment)

After that I had a online radio show called “The Happy Snout Hour” which lasted a while but I got bored eventually and quit that.

Hmmm...

I've gotten hugs from:

Rogue (Cruxshadows)
Ego Likeness
Ayria

I sang a duet with Voltaire.

I am friends with the cousin of the keyboardist of Cruxshadows.

My sister was Miss USA 2006. She is selected to be the hostess of MTV's Singled Out if it goes back on the air.

My sister has mentioned my name a few times on TV.

Other than that, not much. But by the looks of it, I'm pretty lucky.

I've met the director of BlackSheep and a guy who is gonna produce a film called "The sex garden" which is about a New Zealand religious sex cult. That's about it.

I've hung out with Bill Leeb and the rest of the current FLA lineup.
I've had conversation with Ned Kirby from Stromkern
I've had conversation with Andy LaPlegua (Combichrist, Icon of Coil, Panzer AG, etc)
I've had conversation with both guys from She Wants Revenge
I've danced on stage with RevCo
I've hung out with Fear Factory (hey.. they had one good album)
I've hung out with Christina Scabbia and company from Lacuna Coil
I've met the guys from Opeth
Oh, and I was recently an extra in a made-for-tv Canadian movie, which will prolly end up sucking.

That's all I can think of right now.

So is it true? Was your sister drinking (dun dun duuun) underage?? *gasp*

Funny how people in the media spotlight are scrutinized for trivial things like drinking underage... who hasn't? Ok I'm sure there are a few who haven't, but I damn well know that I did when I was underage. Then again, our legal age is 18. Not 21... Which makes it even more lame.

Met Rogue(Cruxshadows), Aryia, Angelspit. Also, Billy Tourtelot from Hell On Earth..doubt any of you know who he is unless you live in Florida. I ran into him after getting off of a ride at Busch Gardens during the Howl-O-Scream event. And I stayed in contact with him for well over a year. I've also met Michael Angelo Batio, most fastest guitar player pretty much ever. I was wearing my Hellraiser shirt that night and when I went to get an autograph he said he liked the shirt and was a fan of the movie. *squeal* lol.
And I know a guy who worked with Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) in Randy's side project called Halo of Locusts. And, I think that's it.

It's not an insult. Scene, from what I can understand, also means someone who is an avid player in the scene. Dear, you are far far far from emo. *hugs*

Pics of me singing with Voltaire is "scene" if you will.

And as for my sister... Let's just put it this way: I am more straight laced than her. When I was 19/20, I was drinking, so yeah.

I met Ray Bradbury and got his autograph on The Martian Chronicles, and met Gary Lockwood who played the murdered astronaut in 2001: A Space Odyssey. I have a photo of him and I together around here somewhere.

I met the hardcore punk band The Code. They were really cool people. We hung out with them for 10 minutes or so.

I was in a commercial for something that I can't remember when I was little.

That's all I can think of.

Well, I won't list any bands or people in bands because I've gone on tours with various punk bands quite a few times, and also used to book bands and have them stay at my house after the show, so there's TONS of people in bands that I've met, are acquianted with, and are good friends with.

I shared a drink and watched some bands play with Anthony Head from Buffy. I've met a lot of horror movie actors and such from going to horror conventions...but a lot of people do that, so it probably shouldn't count.

I bumped into Jennifer Love Hewitt at a music store once. She was bitchy.

My uncle-in-law is Richard Linklater.

I currently work with a girl who was in the top 4 on "America's Next Top Model"

I've bumped into Monica Lewinsky in a store in Georgetown, DC.

hmm, I guess that's about it.

While living in Rochester, NY back in the early 90's, there was a rather expansive scene. A conglomerate of punks, goths, club-kids, etc. and there clubs were endless.
I wrote interviews and reviews on bands and their latest creations for a local zine and went to a lot of shows, so most of my celebrity experiences are music related.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Gen, from the Genitorturers. Marky De Sade from the Dwarves. Joey Ramone, Siouxsie Sioux, Shirley Manson, Tom from Alice Donut. I have also met Maynard from Tool, Chris Isaak, Sinead O'Connor, Daniel Ash, Robert Smith, Peter Steele, Chibi from Birthday Massacre...Winona Ryder, Cal Ripken Jr.

Never actually have experienced my fifiteen mintutes of fame though. Phooey!!

*sniffles* I wanna meet Chris Isaak....:'(

And Kontan- working in hollywood isn't all it's cracked up to be. But if you really wanted in and lived here- I could help you get in. It's actually not hard. You just have to know the right people and/or be in the right place at the right time.
