Sometimes long hair is difficult to cope with & I sometimes wonder whether I should get mine chopped shorter. Though I guess it's at the length I should start putting it up to keep it out of the way (I get caught to lots of things).

Now that I look at it I also need to get my roots dyed. My natural colour was actually quite light compared to the shade I dye it now.

Ohh, that boy is delish. The first one. I don't like Sonny Moore, nor do I like his hair.

I dyed my hair today ffor the first time ever, woo! Well, I got my sister to do all the messy stuff for me, I just sat there, lmao.

It's now a kind of mid-tone pinkish red. It spikes up into a kind of two-inch death-hawk now, and I love it.

No way to post a pic atm tho. >_>

I've finally decided I'm going to get my hair re-styled similar to what Scarlet of Theatres Des Vampires has with her hair.

Update on my hair everyone! Ok, now I can get my hair pretty damn close to straight, but it introduces another problem, even though I use a fairly good conditioner, and even a de-frizzer before I straighten it, my hair still dries out and becomes frizzy and poofy as hell, while still being straight, if that makes sense. Any suggestions for what I can do to get rid of my monster poof?

So, I'm not sure if you mean poufy like "I-have-thick-hair-like-a-hay-stack" or "I've-damaged-my-hair-and-now-it-won't-lay-flat".

If it's the former, you can ask your stylist to razor-cut it. That's a technique that actually thins your hair and makes it lie flat better. It's not often used on curly hair, but if you can have it done while your hair is straight I think it would work.

If it's the latter, I would suggest a deep-conditioning masque to combat the damage. Once you've done your hair masque, you can use a shine serum on your hair after you shower to straighten it and weigh it down.

Was it like the cheap stuff that just like kills your hair? Heh... I hate to home dye my hair. Always afraid something like that would happen. I can ask my friend thought too she does this kind of stuff in Cosmetics class at OTC, she should know.

I'll be your best friend if you talk to me before you dye your hair. I'm good, I promise. And I know my shit. And I've seen too many good people's hair go bad because of a tiny little mistake.

Ancient topic >_> Anywho, I didn't see why I should start a whole new thread for a minor problem...

I have dyed my hair again and it is now a blue black with a bit of red mixed into the dye. (Eh, that's what I get for experimentation.)

The color, while still remaining dark, is bleeding purple. Is this a reaction of the red with the black? I've heard that red hair dying molocules are very small, thus more prone to bleeding out. Or is it just the brand of dye I am using?

I do wash my hair frequently (every other day); however, I use cold water to wash my hair. I also use the "color friendly" shampoos and conditioners too. Any help would be appreciated.

Red does that. Once, I dyed my hair red (I think I used Feria?) and it bled onto my mother's towels for 2 weeks.

Red also fades more quickly than any other color. I don't think the bleeding will make it fade faster, though.

The bleeding will stop after a few weeks. It rinses out a purple color because (duh) the blue with the black mixed with red is purple. I have the same issue trying to keep my hair a peacock blue. I have found that waiting to wash your hair and letting it get a little greasy actually makes the color come out more the next time you wash. Just wash regularly and the color should stop bleeding soon. You can also buy color retainer (though expensive) it works pretty well.

Hi, I just joined (i intend on posting an intro next) and I'm having problems with my hair. I hate the color especially with the cut. I had almost shoulder length hair, I had been trying to grow it long, but I cut it. I don't mind having short hair but I can't do anything with it. It's too long to spike/mohawk/messy ect. but really short. I probably wouldn't hate the cut so bad if it weren't for the color. It is my natural color.
So I am wondering if I should get it trimmed a bit differently? But I am planning on dying it black, even though I have to sneak and do it .-. but thats besides the point.. I have had it black before. Thanks :-)

Black is cliche. Go green.

I like the cut. One of my friends has it like that.

I would love green as well but my school has a dresscode, no unnatural haircolors and green falls under that catogory. I was also considering a dark purple color but I don't know.

Green would suit you really well.

I imagine that olive makeup (used nominally and rationally) would look fantastic.

Olive as in skin tone or olive as in an eyeshadow. I sometimes wear a creamy olive eye shadow. But my skin is not olive, just "fair". I've had a ton of different hair colors: blonde, dark brown, black, and red.
Pic of me with red hair (pardon the sunglasses (loser-y self)):

Now I'm considering growing my hair out to this length again...

Well, they do make olive toned foundation. I miss my hair, I can't think of a thing to do with it and now I am forced to dye it in the privacy of my own secrecy so my mommy doesn't catch me. :P

If it's bleeding out a lot, it might not be a good dye, or you might not be washing your hair thoroughly enough. Try using a dye that "sticks" better, and the first time you wash it out, wash it out until the water runs clear.

Does anyone have any tips for making a good deathhawk. Lately I have just been having it fall to the side, but I want to try to do something with it occasionally. People have suggest backcombing and Aquanet. Does anyone have a deathhawk and know how to get it to say and look good.

Ask Haunted House. And buy some hairspray.
