Boots and pants

I'm about to get some knee-high buckle boots. I was just wondering if it would be advisable to tuck the jeans into the boot or not? I'm inclined to tuck in but I'm thinking this may have some adverse effects on the boots. I'm also looking for what kind of jeans would go great with knee-high boots.

Thanks in advance!

I asked this same question a month ago. I have since been wearing the pants in the boots, and it has not had an adverse effect on the health of the boots, although I have had to get used to the strange feeling of walking in pants and boots. As you know, it is necessary to "wear in" a new pair of boots. Now that I have been doing this for some time now, it feels comfortable. Although last weekend some slob hippie said I dress like a right-winger. I looked right into his eyes and answered "Thank you".

As for what "jeans" would go good with knee-high boots, my suggestion would be plain, solid dark-coloured pants with no logos or ensignias on them (ecxept the ones you may choose to add).

Hope that helped. I've gotta go turn the radio off. Rush Limbaugh just came on.

You could just roll up the pant legs to the right length (like rolling back shirt sleeves) without tucking them in. If it has trouble staying you could use safety pins to keep them in place. I've also found tight, pressured "rolling" helps them stay longer. I've done this with fishnet armwarmers too.

If you want to tuck the jeans in, just flatten them as much as you can. Fold them over, instead of just bunching them in.

I have a pair of Demonias. They're nice. Sometimes, for an odd effect, I DO like to wear some very baggy black pants with hardware all over them and tuck/blouse them at the top of the boots. It kinda looks like a post apocalyptic ninja.

skinny jeans or tight leather pants go great with boots because there isn't going to be an issue with tucking excess material in.
or you can get those victorian knee cut pants.
those are cool.

I wear boots almost all of the time, often with skirts but usually with pants... and I hope and pray that the day someone sees me with my pants tucked into my boots they push me into moving traffic.

Ewww.

I only have midcalf boots, but I always tuck my pants in, it looks krieg.

Wear skinnier pants, really baggy ones will make you look like a moron. I know. I used to wear really baggy pants in my boots [I lost a lot of weight].

Delicate Torture is indeed hilarious-the Aussies are masters of comedy in my opinion. Even as a Brit I must say they indeed beat us by a puch.

If you're going to wear buckle boots, you definitely want the pants tucked in. Either that, or wear pants that have been cut short.

As for tucking them in, the best method, in my opinion, is the double-tuck method. Grab the pants at the mid-shin area, using the seams as points to grab at, then fold them over your thumbs, as if you were trying to get the seams to meet behind your leg. The hold them with one hand while pulling your boots on with the other. Also, until you get a hang of it, use cheap rubber bands to hold them in place.

i wear my docs and my heavy lace up boots outside my pants, but only if i wear tight pants.
i avoid wearing cammo with my docs for fear of looking like something out of Deliverance, though...

Eh, lack of blood flow never hurt anyone.

Seriously, though, I don't think he meant it to be that tight.

I'll do this with my BDUs since they taper in at the knee anyway or Latex pants. Also have a pair of Demonia Gravel 20 and Newrock Reactors, so they 'work' with that look. Typically only something I'd do for clubs or concerts where I want to show off the extra hardware, not for typical crossing the street days, pants over boots then, thank you.

Doesn't work so well with Jeans imho. Works perfectly with kilts as I don't have to be bothered with tucking anything anywhere ^.^

Yeah, I just ordered a pair of Pleaser Riot 20 boots! I can't wait! I'm thinking about doing the whole kilt thing even, but... I don't they'd allow kilts in my uni. Hahaha.

I said cheap rubber bands. You know, the kind that break easily? That way, they only last long enough to start lacing up one's boots, because by then the bottom of the pants should already by stuck into the boots, and the rubber bands can then be removed simply by pulling them away and breaking them.

Or you could use better rubber bands if you want to keep them; just roll them up your leg, over the boot, and back down. But that's kinda annoying. Especially with buckles.
