A short cradle of filth concert critique

So, I convinced myself to go to a cradle of filth concert last night.
I figured, hey, Satyricon is playing too and I like them a lot, I get
to hit as many black metal pussies in the face as I want which
ended up being seven, Ive never seen a black metal band live [Satyricon]
and I wanna see how cradle is live even if I'm not too fond of them.
So I went.

Satyricon was amazing. period. Their style, attitude, presence and
music was perfect to me.

The mosh pit was okay but I wasn't expecting much from a bunch of black metal kids just push moshing anyway.

Then came cradle. They were completely full of themselves. Saying
"we are cradle of filth!!!11!" and having their name and pentagram
bullshit projected behind them and giving 'dark' speeches to the crowd.
I've seen this done many times by bands and it always resulted in
an epic fail. However, for cradle, it worked. It gave me a faux-impression
that they were amazing and I'm not quite fond of them as I sad earlier.

Also, they're stage presence was entertaining and their costumes
and corpse paint-ish make up actually looked good.

What surprised me most was that they actually sounded good, that is
if you like their music. They sounded just like their CDs if not better
and Dani's screams were full of talent. I though my ear drums were going
to burst.

All in all it was a good experience and I'm glad I went and the only
negative aside from some crowd surfer falling on my neck was that
it made me hate black metal fans even more. Then again, I wouldn't
call that a negative. The bands were good the fans were idiots.
I've never seen so many pairs of Tripp pants in my life.

I HATE MOSHING. People need to grow the fuck up, and let out their agression in other ways.

To date, I've heard very few bands speak out against it. e.g.

Bixler Zavala demonstrated very strong views on moshing and crowd surfing. He infamously walked off stage 10 minutes into an At The Drive-In performance at the 2001 Big Day OutBig Day Out.

He had previously asked the audience to calm down and observe the safety rules. After the refusal of the crowd, Zavala told the crowd, "I think it's a really sad day when the only way you can express yourself is by slam-dancing!", followed by making cries of, “You're a robot, you're a sheep!” and proceeded to baa like a sheep at them several times before leaving the stage. Later that day Jessica Michalik died of asphyxiation after being crushed in a mosh pit.

The last show i went to i made sure to stay away from the flailing armed idiots. Much to my (or their) dismay a couple made their way to me and i had to down them. After a few more elbows the rest in the general area got the idea that i wasn't there to play Kung Fu F@gg0t.

Stuff like that will get a fucker choke slammed quick fast and in a hurry. It would be different if i was "in there" jumping about as well. But if i'm just standing there possibly headbanging or just drinking my fucking beer (if it's at that kind of place) then the little aggro bitches better stay away from me.

Just saying. If you like to do that. Fine. But if you hit someone that's merely watching be prepared for dire consequences.

a beer at a show you'll end up at the hospital.

By the way, where i come from if you (general term) hit someone that is on the fringe of the crowd (not...in the pit), if that person has a beer in hand or not, you (general term here) will get hit back...really...really...hard several times.

Let me reiterate here in case you didn't follow me. The "you" i've used is as a general term. Not once did i say i'd choke slam your skinny ass.

I'm a weak guy who bruises a little easy, wouldn't last long in the mosh, so I'd be outside the mosh area just listening to the music... that is if I ever went to such a show.

I don't mind push moshing really. I tend to stay at the edge and help people up now though. Anyway you're a complete idiot for just assaulting people. Someone did that to me once and ran away. Cowards who wish they were bigger.
