Heh, well I was around and involved in the goth scene back in the 80s...

The number isn't important. I think that age is simply a social construct.
The things that I do think are important are having the courtesy to answer a straight forward question with a straight forward answer, and not being a pretentious dick.
Then again.. that's just me.

Actually, I practice a thing called radical honesty.. so yes, I try to always answer questions with total accuracy.
Pulling out age is like trying to pull rank. It tends to be done to remind people of their place. The same with the "green fairy" comment. Nicknames are used as terms of endearment for those that we know and respect, or to patronise those that we don't..
We're the same age - the reason that you couldn't understand "totes" has more to do with your inability to use the context of a sentence to discover the meaning of a word.

Yes completely true... Of course i apologised when i realised i was being a petty dick...
As for the age thing i wasnt pulling rank i was lamenting my lack of certainty of modern lingo and expressing it through an easily understood stereotype. Perhaps i should of responded "i am so out of touch" instead as that is more accurate.
Also my green fairy comment was intended only to placate and amuse you. Oh please dear gods do not misconstrue that...
In any case i think we have gotten off on a crappy tangent here as i frequently agree with your viewpoints and opinions.
All that aside... Im still a pretentious dick.
