Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I'm in two bands and I also write a lot of stuff just for myself.
My first band is as yet nameless, and my other one is a duo with Carbin Monoxide, called Apres Moi Le Deluge.
I guess it's alternative/acoustic.

I'm planning to make a band. I've written a few songs on guitar. They're hard rock/heavy metal riffs.

You just go to clubs, bars and stuff, ask manager of said establishment if you could perform there. I don't know.

My friend and I have changed our band name to The Hypnic Jerks. There are probably others with the name, but who cares. We've also lowered our song complexity to that of EPs style Rudimentary Peni and early T.S.O.L. because we're terrible musicians. Haha.

My stuff is still in the writing process, when it's all done I guess I'll start on the rehearsing... I don't know... I can't find the fun, it's all feeling like work! So I'm going to take a break from it a bit until I find the fun in it again.

I'm starting up a piano rock project! It's called PeL, it's me on guitar and on piano! How it'll work is I strum a chord on a guitar, and with the sustain switch turned on the keyboard, I'll hit a few notes and BAM!

I sing and play bass guitar for my goth/deathrock/noize-rock project. Right now it's just me and two other guys but we're starting to make some progress, maybe even release an EP before the end of the year . We've gone through a shitload of name changes, but right now we're called ".wOrmhole".

In this Internet age, it's easy as shit. Pretty much everywhere has a forum specifically for people living there. Ireland has two, one for general shit, and one for music. All you need to do is find it, make a post saying that you wanna put on a gig, and that you're looking for acts. STATE THAT A VENUE HAS NOT BEEN FOUND YET. When you have a good amount (Four or five), hunt around for a good venue. Small clubs, pubs, art venues, even school halls, whatever. EVERYWHERE IS A VENUE. It could be someone's house, if you can get a PA. BUT, I will say, if you put on a gig, DO NOT TAKE ANY MONEY FOR YOURSELF. It seems backwards, but yeah. Once you take out money for expenses (Venue, PA if you had to hire one), then GIVE ALL MONEY TO THE OTHER ACTS. It'll make them more willing to partner up with you at some point.

I changed my mind, using a device I be getting soon, I'll be able to record the piano parts and just play the recording while jamming out on the guitar and singing.
It's going to be awesome.

Not really a band, but I frequently compose cheesey synth music at my house. Music for horror movies I make, or just for fun.
I can't play piano, so technically, it's all improvised.
I can play drums and hope to find some other goth kids and start a goth band.

I played one song and I barely remember the notes. I only remember the first measure and after that it's foggy.
My favorite instrument is my psaltery.
I wanna get a synth one of these days.
Back in high school I was in an amateur band. We called ourselves Magnificat. I played a little drum back then, but I since sold my drum set. The band pretty much broke up after I moved.

I'm a pretty ok punk bass player, but I could go for a goth band.

I'm in a Horrorpunk band called : Polio Joe and the Infectious Syringes.
So far, we have no songs, and our drummers kit consists of stolen car parts, a nicked Hi hat and a couple of symbols and a double bass pedal connected to an empty diesel barrel.

What an awesome way of being allowed to stick Experimental before your genre! =D

My band as of recent has adapted a Horror Punk sound. Horror punk is quite simple, but also really fun to write (and sing, with all of the 'woah's), plus, it makes sense seeing as how we're from the east coast US, where it all started. Haha. We're still called the Hypnic Jerks and still don't have a myspace, but we have a few original songs. Enough for a demo that might be recorded soon.

Ocean's Avenue should be recording sometime soon.
We should now have a bassist.
We just need to get everyone together for the one song we can actually play well and record.

Never knew it'd be so simple to make a website for a band.
112 Ocean's Avenue's website is finished (except for the discography, since we don't HAVE a discography, and the biographies, which are all Malice's job)
I hooked it into my wordpress blog so that Malice and I could edit it without having to stare at code. (Although I'm good at staring at code, it's a pain when there are simpler ways)
