DIY Eyeshadow

I found that if you mix powder, I use shimmery sheek powder with food coloring you get a really neat eyeshadow!
I used green and the color looks really pretty especially with the glitter.
I have blue and yellow too. Purple would be really good. You have to use only a tiny bit and use lots of shimmer.

Just to warn you it might be messy, but it's fun. I used Loreal Shimmer Powder to mix with the food coloring.

That's a good idea! I have lots of shimmer eyeshadow but can't always get the color I want. One thing though, doesn't it tint your skin? I know food coloring stains my fingers sometimes. Also, are you using the regular liquid stuff or the better quality professional food coloring? The pro stuff comes in jars and gives more vibrant color to frostings so I assume it'd work on eyeshadow but it stains wildly too.

I used small bottles, but havent tried professional...it stained my fingers but not my eyelids...it comes off with soap though. What I would recommend, is get plastic lid or something, put the glitter on the lid and then dot on a bit of color, then use a paintbrush or other brush and mix it up, then i would use a spare brush to apply it to your lids.

Ooh, thanks! I'll have to try that, seeing as how I have all those things here.

I tried it and it looks really cool, it looked like liquid metal because of the shimmer I used. It works best if you put it on while it's still wet.

I used just normal food coloring from the grocery store, and it didn't stain my skin because I used a cleanser that waas tough enough to get the color off but gentle enough to use around my eyes. I would advise you start out making only a small amount of the eyeshadow. If it dries out before you use it, add a drop of water or two.

Can you try saying who you're addressing? No one knows who you're talking about.

Wow that's a really good idea, I'll try that too.

Did you just all of a sudden think of trying that or did you read it because I've never heard of it

I ended up with electric orange stained eyelids...
If I ever need electric orange, I'll be happy... (I despise orange...)
I may use this to try to get a nice electric green colour...

Hello...I'm a little late, but I decided to add my two cents in on a slight variation....

Ladies and gents, I present you with DIY lip gloss/lip stain

For lip gloss:
Take a small bowl and empty a big clump of Vaseline into it.
Put it in the microwave for a few seconds at a time. Make sure to watch it and not just leave it there for a while because it will explode and make a mess. Take it out as soon as it is completely liquid and proceed quickly.
If you want something light and shimmery, take some loose eyeshadow and sprinkle it in gently. Mix it in, smoothing any clumps. Add as much as you want. Go crazy! I've mixed a few colours in before.
When you put it on, put one layer on first, let it dry off a bit and then add some more.
Store it in an airtight box, like an empty lip balm tin.

For lip balm:
Same as above.
However, I've recently had fun adding a little bit of flavouring into my lip balm. I added some mint extract to a small pot of lip balm, which made my lips smell nice. I would imagine that the taste would be qite pleasant too...
I've made lip balm as above but with cocoa powder in it. It smells really nummy and if you add a little bit of shea butter, it really hydrates your lips, and makes them very chocolatey, which is also quite tasty.
Lastly, I've put some very fine sugar crystal sprinkles in melted Vaseline before. They make for an interesting texture on your lips and I cnstantly reapplied, having licked it all off.

Lip stain:
Two words:
Food Colouring.

I've mixed some food colouring together to ake a lovely dark plum shade, which I then poured into a mix of melted Vaseline and some lip gloss. When i applied it, it made a very bright colour whcih stayed for a long time. Make sure you get the right colour and that you dn't get any on your teeth or you'll end up looking like you've been eating artificial candy all day...*hopes everyone understands how humiliating it is to have a blue tongue, lips and teeth for a whole day*

Enjoy!

All of this is such food for the mind. I must try every one of these out.

When my style used to be more rivethead, I used to use real black gear grease and rub it up my arms with a t-shirt.

Eeep DIY for life XP
