Prom is Evil but...
my girlfriend and I intend to go, I need something to wear, bear in mind that my body is... not curvy, I look like a twelve year old boy in drag basically, so umm, yes suggestions?

I say go naked...
Sersouily though go with some thing long, flowing, and reflects you.

You sure as hell don't look like a 12 year old boy in drag, Hazzie. I say have fun with it, do something very artistic and original.

Yeah i argee, you look more like a very beautiful young lady, but yeah DIY your self some thing cool, like i said early go with some thing that reflects you. And with your weight and body stlye i would suggest something longer and flowing with your body like a long dress or something along those lines.

Go to a wedding store and look at some bride's maid dresses. Seems like a really bad idea but I saw some pretty cool stuff, and you can always change something you don't like. NOt all bride's maid dresses are silly.

Hazie, you have looked nice in every photo you have posted, so I hardly think you could go wrong in your selection, but I would suggest something dark that would serve as a background for your beautiful face. But then, if you want to look fancy, maybe something like this:
http://www.labormaus69.de/weblog/ima...blackdress.jpg
It would still serve as a setting for your face, but look sophisticated. But then, my taste is a little old fashioned perhaps.
For a more subdued look, perhaps this:
http://www.dressappeal.com/calitoprom1/gowns/pr0530.jpg
Both outfits compliment your body style, and highlight your facial features, in my humble opinion. Good luck and please post what you finally selected in the picture post so we can admire you!

Ok yeah i argee fully with HumanePain on this one, you should go with something like that. It would accent and show off your utterly beautiful facely features.

I HATED both my proms, mainly because I cannot abide by wearing dresses. I HAD to go because 1) my mother MADE me and 2) since she made me, I HAD to wear a dress (traditional rules--no same-sex date, and no "menswear" on the ladies).
The first one I went to my mom made me wear this beaded catastrophe that I couldn't walk normally in (I felt like my legs had been bound in silk--I had to walk like a Chinese princess or a geisha!). The second one was a cavalcade of negative emotions--I had to go with someone I couldn't stand, I hated my dress-thing, and I had to deal with the fake sentimental emotions of people I didn't know who *swore* they'd miss me... (I hate that--why act?)
...but enough with my complaining--I'd say the first one HP chose would compliment you nicely, if one had to choose. I don't like wearing them myself, but I *do* have appreciation for a pretty dress!

I agree with Humane on both dresses. You are a very beautiful girl and either one of those dresses would reflect you in a good way.
I've been to prom. My boyfriend's school starts their proms in 9th grade because they don't have enough seniors and juniors to have those grade proms. But he's a junior this year so we plan on attending. The first dress I wore was only $5 at Fashion Bug. It was black and magenta. But anyways, yes I am searching for a dress myself...
Good luck with finding one.

Thank you I'm definantly feeling the 18th century vibe, I was planning to do 1920's, but I like a hoop skirt as much as the next girl so I may do that. My gf goes to art school, so I could probably come in topless but for electrical tape and be alright, I'm going more for he kitsch factor (and the excuse to buy a ridiculasly expensive get up for the occosion)

I LOVE PROM! I got a beautiful dress from the lip service website. I was complimented all night. Try Enigma Fashions or Lip Service.

The dresses above are quite lovely. You could also try a sari or a qingpao (sorry for the spelling) styled chinese dress. Both are quite lovely and flatter all female forms.
...If I remember right, I went in some sort of Audrey Hepurn type number. Looked nice and I wonder if I can butcher it into something later.

I can see you in this.
I think you would be breathtaking. The colors are vivid enough to suit you wonderfully, and the feathery aspect of the top are just unique enough to create a little "pop" without being weird.

Personally, I'd do something Vicxtorian with a bustle and a parasole.. but I am overly curvy.
If you're straight up and down then you should look at something with an empire line.. think Jane Austin style films. Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility. Hair definately should be worn up and whispy.. when people wear their hair down for proms and the like they always end up looking like bird's have nested in it. And don't forget to take a little bag with some make-up so you can dash off to the ladies for those pre-photo touch ups.
But most of all, enjoy the time... and take a whoopie cushion.

I say you wear whatever the hell you want to. It doesn't even have to be a dress, unless your school has some idiot rules. I say, think of your favorite outfit...wear that.
I went to my prom--it was boring, but my dress was rather awesome. My mother's quite handy with that kind of thing, and she made me a design by a friend of mine---a black taffeta strapless with a big skull on the front. The handbag that she made to go with it had a skeletal hand on it. My mother surely did rock on.

I'll probably force mine to look like a bird's been nesting in it (I rather like the cure look) yeah my girlfriend can do the bustle thing, I'll probably do the flapper or Rococo thing... Jane Austin isn't my favorite era

I would suggest a dark shiny fabric or something with a sort of mesh and gloves if its strappless. I have jr.prom this year but I don't want to go...last school dance I went to someone tripped me and I broke my leg...I wasn't even dancing.
...Anyways, I'm fashion retarded and you've probably heard this before, but have fun
