hahaha The question makes me smile... confusedly. Doesn't everyone love David Bowie? :P
He has to be my favourite, which is weird because I'm a femme vocals kind of girl.

Way to quote his most mainstream and overplayed song!

Sweety, do yourself a favor: go down to the record store and pick up a copy of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

His music is my love and salvation. Next, please...

Seriously, my cd player is (almost) constantly repeating my Ziggy Stardust album. I love it even more than I love Siouxsie. And that does say a lot.

Zipster doesn't think so well of him, though.

I love David Bowie. I've had the song "Bluejean" stuck in my head most of the day.

I've loved "Diamond Dogs" for quite a while, and I recently picked up "Ziggy Stardust", which I'm greatly enjoying too. Hmm... recommendations on where I should go next, anyone?

I would recommend these four excellent/great albums:

The Man Who Sold The World

Standout songs other than the awesome title song:
The Width of a Circle, Black Country Rock, Saviour Machine, All The Madmen & The Supermen.

Aladdin Sane

Standout Songs:
Drive in Saturday, The Prettiest Star, Cracked Actor, Time, The Jean Genie, Panic in Detroit & Watch That Man.

"Heroes"

Standout Songs:
Sons of The Silent Age, Joe The Lion, Secret Life of Arabia & the classic trio of very imaginative instrumentals Sense Of Doubt, Moss Garden & Neuköln.

Scary Monsters (And super Creeps)

Standout Songs:
Teenage Wildlife, Kingdom Come, Ashes To Ashes, Scary Monsters, It's No Game (Part 1), Fashion & Scream like a Baby.

His album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is great.
I can't respect someone that says likes rock but doesn't know David Bowie.
Nevertheless I don't like glam.

Bowie's created a tremendous amount of fantastic and varied music. The Man Who Sold The World was my very first album. From that, The Width Of A Circle, All The Madmen and She Shook Me Cold are my three fav songs, whilst The Supermen is just a great piece of poetry.

No one has mentioned Lodger yet, (which is uberstandable because it is so different), but Red Sails, Look Back In Anger and Boys Keep swinging are all great songs.

Lets Dance may have been popular, but that's no reason to dislike it. China Girl, Richochet, Criminal World and Cat People are all superb.

From Ziggy; Five Years, Soul Love, Lady Stardust and Rock n Roll Suicide are my pick.

There are so many more good tracks, some of which have been mentioned. In no particular order and from various albums, listen out for Space Odyssey, Ashes to Ashes, Heroes, Sound and Vision, Wild Is The Wind, Diamond Dogs, Rebel Rebel... etc.

I actually do like Let's Dance, I just think it's a little lame when that's the first think people think of when Bowie is mentioned. Like how they played it for his cameo in the movie Zoolander when Fashion would have been a much more appropriate song.

Ziggy Stardust has to be one of the greatest albums ever.

Also I love the album Black Tie White Noise.

It's a bit different, but not bad at all, at least in my opinion.
