I HATE those "save the animals" commercials
Every time I see one of those commercials, I can't stand it. When they go on about how many animals get abused and are in need of loving homes, and they show pictures of dogs and cats...
I wish I could adopt all those animals, but I don't have the means to adopt even one. And that pisses me off and makes me sad at the same time.
It also pisses me off that people can be so cruel as to abuse animals, whether it's direct abuse or abuse through negligence. Sometime, I absolutely despise humanity.

Bambina! :^( Yeah. I know. I almost never watch T.V. so I haven't seen them, but I know. I was a kennel worker at Animal Humane Association for a couple years. As far as I was consciously aware I dealt with it okay but sometimes I would have dreams that suggested otherwise, and sometimes it would get to me.

I got my cat from a shelter. She was about 6 weeks.. so TINY!
She slept under the covers with me for a year straight, and still does it when she feels extra-snuggly or is cold.
She is my baby and I love her to death. Even though she pukes on my stuff sometimes.

The last line there made me laugh! God almighty. I've had "Grey Kitty" for years, from when I worked at the shelter. She barfs and/or pees on every damned thing eventually. More than my house-rabbit, Mr. Bigglesworth, she is why I put plastic down on all the new carpeting in my relatively new little house. Meanwhile the rabbit will now and again decide to start chewing on the wall! I tell him "NO!" and then give him a carrot. I think he is startiing to see it as a way to get carrots. :^)

I think you should give your bunny a block of wood to chew on.

Thanks for the suggestion. You know they sell these wooden rabbit chew toys and I bought him some and he ignores the hell out of them! I did read about giving them twigs from apple trees though. If I could find one, without pesticides, I bet he would like it. He needs some more hay, too. They love hay.

So you complete the set of characters.
Anyway, to the thread in general:
Watch these three ads too, as to put other things into perspective than just saving our furry little animal friends.
*click me*
*and me*
*and... if you see me, me*
After you watched them, highlight whats under this text for a translation of the text, but don't do it before you've seen them or you'll ruin the intended effect.

My old (sadly deceased) grey tabby peed on everything.
I miss her.. I had her from age two to twelve. That cat got me through some tough times.
I wish I could mail you apple branches, Kane! We have a huge apple tree in your backyard.
Meth, you are one CRAZY son of a..

Guten Morgen, Frauleine. :^) Now lets not be totally sad here! Unless you know you need to be or something.
My current cat to be honest was kind of foisted upon me. I care for her and all but there have been others that I felt really connected to, and not in the way that Meth will probably interpret. I expect he's proabbly safely in his coffin for awhile though. I appreciate the apple branch thoughts. Perhaps scan one for me.

I used to get apple branches for Titus from my old neighbor. But when he moved out the new people decimated the entire back garden and cut down the tree . These people are spectacularly dim. They got rid of the back lawn " in case one of the kids falls over and hurts themselves ". What did they replace it with? Concrete. Go figure..
I always feel bad that I can't do a great deal to help a lot of animal charities, most of the ads require you to donate monthly by credit/debit card. And I have neither. Still, I often wonder how much of that money actually goes towards the animal's upkeep. I heard that a lot is spent on admin and paying for the ads and promotion.
I feel happier actually going to say...an RSPCA centre and donating dog/cat food or blankets for the animals. At least they get used directly.
I donate to a local owl sanctuary as well. There is a guy who has a display stand in town occasionally, and he always brings a couple of the owls for people to see and stroke. And there are donation buckets to put money into. I love his little owl, so sweet ^_^

You're so sweet! :^) I'll have him come over and nibble on the computer screen. El oh well! If that is in your yard you have it made, too.
And good mourning, Honeythorn. Yeah. Enjoy the comfort and safety of concrete! Drrr! Thanks for being a fellow animal caretaker. I rescued a downed owl from an older brother's house once. Everyone was afraid to touch the enormous furious-eyed creature and they figured rightly that I would be crazy enough to take care of it. We guessed that he was trying to get the neighbor's rabbits.
Is Titus a bunnicular entity? Well, I'll check back later. Blessings to all you folks. Must go--EW!--OUTSIDE! :^)

I completely agree with you Shadows.
I cry every time I see one and I wish I could send money to the ASPCA, but I am so broke it's not funny. I wish I could find homes for them all and put every single abuser in jail.
