Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Style and makeup inspirations/admirations
From drooling over a character's dress all the way to practicing Siouxsie's eyes, who's got a head to toe that makes you go "Wow"? Whether you dress the part or admire it from afar, I'm sure there's at least one icon lurking for most people here.
Here are mine:
Lena Horne as Sweet Georgia Brown
Traci Lords as Wanda motherfucking Woodward (Seriously, I mad adore her hair and I'm really trying to grow out my bob)
Well, Hatchet-Face and Pepper deserve a mention too.
The Belle Stars
More in the next post...(Sucks to the 4 images rule)

More!
Grace Jones (Link for fear of hotlinking)
http://flygirls.typepad.com/fly/imag...5/06/grace.jpg
Hazel Scott (Find her with Lena in I Dood It with Red Skelton)
Claudette Colbert as Cleopatra, wig and all
And of course, Siouxsie herself (You lot already know her heyday makeup)
More later, but I wanna give everybody else a chance to show off too.

Natalie Imbruglia in the Smoke video. Everywhere else she looks weird.

Anna Varney, she looks stupidly amazing. People can tell I kinda nicked her style though...and in clubs I get people coming up to me like..."OMGZ! you like Sopor Aeturnus!" and I'm like..yes...I am that patently obvious.

Yeah, she is beautiful. Don't feel too bad about constantly being compared to her; I get Helena Bonham Carter all the time lately, and I don't think I look anything like her. But some people will take one or two really distinctive elements and automatically jump to an association. With someone like Varney, you end up having to try even harder to put your own twist on it.
