Uhm, honestly, neither Nikki nor I really care about gaining "status" here. We both came here because we knew Meta loved this site, so we thought about checking it out. Is it really that big of a deal that we posted ONE thread to wish our best friend good luck? I realllly don't understand why so many of you got pissed. The reason behind this thread was to give Meta that extra confidence and to show him we're all behind him. Who are you to call this thread "fucking stupid"? Does every thread have to please you or else? I don't think the purpose of every thread is to make Geisha happy. No offense, but you're not the only person on the board, and you have no right to act like you own it and can go around judging everything as you see fit.

And look. We're friends, here. And, we want to be there for our BEST friend. There are "happy birthday" posts, so why can't there be "good luck with the interview" posts? Everyone on this site is friends, pretty much, and I bet a lot of YOU have inside jokes. Do you get mad at OTHER people on the site for joking with each other? Why WOULD you? Why would you get mad at US? And I'm pretty sure none of what we said was an inside joke, to tell you the truth. Applying for a job at a camp implies he's a campfag, hence me saying that. the reason for the backlash is as follows - and it's the reason i gave idol offline, in a pm.

in essence, newbies creating posts just for the sake of slapping words down will usually earn you a certain degree of backlash. put some thought into it.
this thread bothered me when i first saw it. it bothered me less after idolbones pm'd me. but it's still a bit pointless - and why? the sentiment would have fit just as well inside the 'randomness' thread, and in all actuality, that's where it should have gone. that's what i mean when i say it's important to look around and get a feel for the place.
new threads for shallow, pointed comments usually fit better inside of existing posts. it's something to think about.
