Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

If I see MTV calling HIM gothic, someone is going to get hurt... :-x
Anyway, I love them. But I hate Vallo's new look.

They're decent. I hear no guitar playing, lyrics, or vocals that make me want to become a regular listener, though. It's too... cute.

I like HIM quite a bit, and I have a few posters of the very very nice Ville Vallo up on my wall.

For people who like HIM, you should check out Entwine. They are awsome and remind me of HIM.

Vallo looks like a chubby little baby kid.
This new song is pretty good. Razorblade Romance will most likely still be the best of their albums though.

I'll proly get flamed mega hard for this, but... I tried getting into HIM, and just couldn't. Are they actually considered goth? I listen to a lot of different stuff, from Tracy Chapman to NIN (gotta love tracy's voice), but, unless I just haven't heard the right HIM tracks, it sounds to me like glam rock with some pretty, gothy eye candy. Like Poison and Dream Theater had a love child.... *shrugs*

No you won't, but you can get flamed for the inability to spell simple words like probably. It's all a matter of musical preference. Like myself, I love the Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus and Joy Division but I can’t stand Christian Death. I’m also not so fond of HIM either.
But someone will definitely get their ass charred for calling themselves goth because they listen to Manson or Good Charlotte. It is fine for people to listen to those types of bands as long they realize that they aren’t very goth. You only get flamed for making a complete ass out of yourself.

lol - you'll find me using words like proly and tho a lot. i don't even notice when i do it, 'tis just the way i speak - yes i even say 'proly' in person. this isn't english class after all. but i don't use 3's in place of e's or 0's in place of o's, etc etc. that's just retard speak.
I stand by Manson being goth. Angry goth, but goth none the less. If not his music, definately his videos, like the Nobodies, Coma White and Disposeable Teens, etc etc. I love the visuals in them. But his pre anticrist days, no... I know nothing about Good Charlotte. I think I've heard the name mentioned before tho. See? there I go again. ha!
sorry. But, not everyone can be Peter Murphy running through a forest in fear of the coming dawn, now can they? Damn them psycho-billy posers!
Anyway, I must admit the new him video is visually enticing. Just dub over another song and it'd be great.

I like HIM a lot here in Finland we are very proud of them. I was a fan already when they weren't so popular, and performed in small clubs. Now they rarely even play in Finland at all :<
Anyway, the new album, Dark Light, is good... maybe it starts to sound even better, when I listen to it more
