I was, one's taste in music and art is their own. Those tastes change and grow, one artist can introduce us to another or to a whole genre that we never even knew existed.
Of course, there will be things I'll never really get. Like the fact that there are people who listen to light jazz... on purpose.

Nighwish sucks. And not just "I don't like this band, they suck" kinda way. I dislike a lot of good music, but I can respect a lot of them for their creativity and talent. But Nightwish is just a bunch of talentless sellouts who exploit the apparent need for cheesy dark romantic "metal" with a decent looking chick singer.

Why is this still going?. Yes Nightwish suck, yes I still listen to them from time to time. I still know they aren't great though. I'm just a sucker for cheesy music ^^

This thread is still going because it clearly has stopped being about Nightwish and it's now about what can be considered art.
And I'm going to go with artistic intent. Ready-mades were art because Duchamp said they were. Unless we want to go with some pedantic high-art definition, in which case no type of popular music, including symphonic metal, would be included, and the only music-as-art would be opera.
