Falling down the stairs.

I'm a drunk falling down the stairs.
I hear mumbling voices, as if gargled through head that's had its teeth kicked out.
They try and offer me advice, but I'm too deaf and thick-headed to listen.
I desperately want to know what's happening, where I'm going.
I try to see, but everything's moving so fast, it's a blurry mess of decisions.
It feels like eons are passing, while I'm aimlessly falling down these stairs.
So many chances and choices missed, so many messed paths.
Eventually I give up and realize, I'm just another drunk falling down the stairs.
