frustration

Written during a boring example of the human need to blame and rely on someone besides themselves while they’re being deluded to expect an afterlife of harps and fluffy wings:

There is sorrow in the shadow of faith

stark white walls surround a confused follower

he opens his eyes from meaningless prayer to a bright thought

there is no truth in promise, no future in faith

life oozes from the pores of every living thing

now is not time for focus on death and salvation

stuffy halls of petrified believers trembling beneath the thumb of a scapegoat

grant the poor being a moment away from your demanding lemmings

break away from the norm and relish in a freedom only you can create

joy is to be had when it’s offered

there is no euphoria felt by a cadaver waiting for examination

from the earth back to the earth

potential lies in your every cell

do not let it die so that you may end up in some imaginary garden of light

bring that garden to the living

they need it more than the dead

He was harmless to everyone... but himself.
He was funny, witty, clever, inventive.
He despised the medical profession and ignored their warnings.
He refused the help he desperately needed.
In denial he lived, of substance abuse he died.
He left behind scores of individuals who loved and admired him.
An individual, too proud to fall, fell upon his own behavior.
He is gone. Never to return again. Or if he does, will I recognize him?
Will he live again? If he does, I am not meant to know him again.
We are to remain strangers. If by chance our paths do cross, I will be an old man. He will be of different skin. Different path, different mind.
To each person he knew, he touched our souls, our lives, our minds.
His physicality is gone, yet as long as I am in charge of my heart and mind, there he will be remembered. There he will live.

The moon is full
between the clouds
as I search
the shore.

Like the Eye of God
it lights the sand
but there is no sign
but silence.

Looking up
do I trace the beach
or breach the pitch
of an unknown lake?

Ripples belie
the undertow
but The Eye of God
blinks not.

Floating out
I miss the shore
but now My Eye
sees anew
the bubbles
drifting up.

I love the word "undertow", reminds me of my beloved Mississippi. Ever notice how sometimes, when the clouds are right, looking up from dry land is almost the same as looking up from the shallow bottom of the ocean? Your eyes hurt the asme and the ripples are cause by the same winds.

Yes, they did invite me dear
Four wheels
that is all this love wagon requires
I take the fifth, for I make five

Dragged along 'cause the felt guilty
Leave me at home

********** Semper Libera

This is our land. A land of stability and equality. A land of justice and harmony.

This is our land... **********.

We are it's people... the workers, the builders, the growers, the soldiers,
the scientists, the artisans.

We are it's people... the stuards of Nature's bounty and the explorers of our world.
Struggling, learning, thriving, leading.

On the airwaves of our cities, and in the courts of the State... fighting against the mutilation
of our personal freedom and civil liberty.

Who are THEY ?

THEY are the appearentists. The arrogant, prejudiced, bigoted egotists.

In the steel&glass office towers of the Americas... In their corporate boardrooms...
in their businesses and factories... masculine beauty and strength are compromised...
sacrificed to heartless insects who's only sense of honor is to their own profit.

Yet even as We grasp at unity, there is a CANCER, an evil force of division, growing...
spreading... in our midst.

SHOUT !... SHOUT !... SHOUT OUT IT'S NAME !

A P P E A R E N T I S M !

What is right is wrong
A single note, clarity
Please let truth be just

What is right is fear
Tremble at evil's feet
Assassinate ego

I have come to the point
where I am broken.
Left, right, up, down,
there's no true direction.
I am lost:
within myself.
I am trapped:
inside myself.
Will the gods of time set me free?
For they have power to heal all wounds.
Or am I doomed to lifelessness,
waiting for my sanity self-destruct?
I ask questions,
I listen for answers,
I hear only silence.

Deathchil, are you a mind reader or is human nature very repetitive? Your style is fun to read.

to the tune of "carrying da Banner" from Newsies, don't ask

Inspiration has abandoned me
I feel so very detatched
usually this serves my meloncholy
but lately my padora's box'z been latched

there goes money
there goes fortune
there goes my career
I never thought I'd be a writer,
until my head was cleared

Now my hand shakes
crazy with the horror
stupid stinking sister
can't concentrate on a mistah

The great aristole
never had to throttle
a flaming mass of keys

Now I'm gunna give up
My computer's gunna spit-up
I'll save this site the shame

It's a hard task
writing sumthin funny
'lees it's 'bout a bunny
It's a darn task
So I'll stop

Robert Louis Stevenson - "That Man is a Success"

That man is a success
who has lived well,
laughed often and loved much;

who has gained the respect
of intelligent men,
and the love of children;

who has filled his niche
and accomplished his task;

who leaves the world better
than he found it,
whether by an improved poppy
or a perfect poem,
or a rescued soul;

who never lacked appreciation
of Earth's beauty
or failed to express it;

who looked for the best in others,
and gave the best he had.

My face gleems red,
Might as well be blood, though it is not.
I can't find my thoughts, I lost them in my rage.
I am numb; such feelings, I forgot.

My eyes won't open,
The are glued shut by the crust of my tears.
I feel guilty, for being who I am.
I felt guilty all these years.

And tis the day,
I find myself once again,
Here; in the land of sadness and the ocean of pain.

I try to take myself to a happy place,
but it is there where I don't feel safe.

My worry protects me
From what is to come.
My sadness is the shell of my fear.
My fear protects me...
from myself.

Send me but the dear and daft face

I hold so near, a pulsation, so quick in fear

I quiver, but holding not the untethering pains

I knew not, the incandescence of precipitous rains

And let me rain unto you as this sombre, entrenched thing

When tattered screams lean upon tattered sheens now unclean

Between incandescence and the putred, sole fact

A resonance, or newfound attack

I sell my soul, or bare it for all to see

An alloting grace, or fluttering fee

Vigil, I keep myself, unrestrained, a moment within the

wanton grace

I shed, and wander towards the venom's bellowing heads

Amiss, a tiding, or interminable kiss

I held it dear, for the moment's perpetual bliss

An unforseen longing bestowed unto heart and lips.

I was bored... it's supposed to be a song...
based off a true story x]

The Night Stalker
Ramirez and Bravewolf, making the pact
Joining in friendship and falling intact.
Ramirez and Vincow, was much not the same
The results were quite different and so was the blame.
It was in 1984, on June the 28th,
The man he was greedy, he wanted the bait.
But when it came down to miss Vincows home,
There wasn't enough to steal, and so...

The annihilation began!
and the death of a women, was soon to arrive!
The blood slappettered walls, and the curtains were stained;
and somehow the sexual tensions were raised.

Jab, Peirce, Puncture, Thurst!
The night stalker is here.
Jab, Peirce, Puncture, Thurst!
Beware, the night stalker is here!

He'd walk through the door,
and as he came near,
He'd look in your eyes,
and you'll shrivle in fear.
Then he'd stab you once more,
and you'd fall to the floor!
but it wasn't enough for him.

So the fornication began!
and a dead women was soon to be fucked!
milt on the couch dripping on to the floor,
If you're already dead you could still be a whore?

Jab, Peirce, Puncture, Thurst!
The night stalker is here.
Jab, Peirce, Puncture, Thurst!
Beware, the night stalker is here!

Wondering, rasps of hate

I bid you, descecrate, or bid me

Empature, or emparting unto thee

This rasp I hold, or bestow, once incandescent light

I bid, despite, the centric whims and their wanting, peripheral

sight

It was but the greatest sights, behold

A sweet effrevescence, I hence unfold

Or bid myself 'tween destinies so great and bold

That this should be my goodbye of goodbyes, a folklore

heretofore retold.

sing to me sweet nothingness
your company is most amusing
I lay down in your arms and you comfort me
tell me that I am worthwhile
My questions fall upon invisible ears
your answers cannot surf waves of sound
still our auras meld and sway
compatible in every way
come dance with me at the edge of the earth
we have planned this moment since my time of birth
jump into pelès world with me
let’s do a rumba through her fiery sea
the world will burn up around me
they will forget what the no longer see
quiero muerte, peace, silence
your fog surrounds me and gives me back my voice
remain here and justify my choice

sitting at the edge of the pier
wondering if the world really stops here
black waves rattle the rickety wood
excitement chills my fiery blood
for tonight is the night when the end is found

But what if, alas, there be no end?

would I be forced to search over again
be it merely a lake and not world’s fall
life will continue the same for us all

Able Ear

Send me, wayward gaze,

But the hapless, faithless craze

And dissipating more with the wondrous plight

Effervescence, the waning site

I grant thee, pleasure, and needs for measure

Innocence, and wanton for lack of fare

As retribution within the destitute air

I shake, or hence lay, dispatch and forsake

This whimsical worry I hold here, to the now, so dear

Clinging like fame to the despairing, severe

Flames echoed betwixt euphoria's able ear.

I wrote this rhyme for a friend of mine.
Thing is... she didn't get it...
Embarrassing huh?

Anyway, here's the rhyme. Tell me what you think of it and what you think it is about.
I don't particularly like it. I find it too jumpy, going from one thing to the next. It doesn't flow.
Anyway:

What is a man to do
When his heart is not his own?
What must a man pursue
If not where his heart has flown?

But my heart's not misplaced
It has been willfully given.
In my chest there, replaced,
Now a feeling of Heaven.

For in my loving mind
No single thought I deter;
For they are all confined
To sing solely about her:

Of great beauty they chant
And when I hear them begin,
By God! They know I can't
Forget the warmth of her skin.

They carol of wisdom.
Hearing canticles so wise,
As wisdom I seldom
See but her radiant eyes.

They serenade of love
But all love is eclipsed,
Like by the moon above,
By the redness of her lips.

A man is not a man
Until he dons his heart.
This man has just begun
To live his life as art:

Canvas brush strokes flutter
And dance in thousands of hues.
Life, I am its painter
And she, my ravishing muse.

I do want some reviews back because I want to see if people notice some things about the above rhyme which I want people to notice.
Obviously I won't say what are those things until I see if some people got close.

I loved it just the way it was Jillian (even though I had to look up canticles ). You are an incurable romantic, as am I.

She should be honored you wrote this for her, and immediately swoon.

The only thing I would come close to changing are the lines:

"As wisdom I seldom
See but her radiant eyes."

Perhaps this:

"As wisdom I seldom see
but her radiant eyes."

I would not change a word, just the arrangement of the words.
This will be a classic.
