They just kept dragging on on on and there is no emotion when you read the book, and I love having some emotion while reading a book. Also how Mice of men ended was ok but it just left me hanging. The only memory I have from reading it was yelling out "whore!" when my teacher asked us "what is the first word you think of when you see this woman?".

Forever by Judy Blume - written in the 70's still relevant today. Fast paced, touches on a lot of subjects for young-uns. It's a pretty quick read - I knocked it over in about 6 hours which included cooking tea and various other bat related duties.
