Of course I've heard of it!
Unfortunately, I've heard it's VERY expensive, and VERY hard to find a tattooist that does it.

Don't take my word for it, but I heard that it's also not very good for you. Something about a higher level of heavy metals in the ink.

I heard it was a rumor, but now I see it's true. I would love to have tattoo with that stuff, unless there are side effects......not sure.

I watch alot of Tribal Fusion Bellydances and a woman named Dawn had that done to her and she had danced to Marilyn Manson's I Don't Like The Durgs, But The Drugs Like Me. Needless to say it was pretty cool. Plus it went well with her falls and oufit. ^^
It sounds interesting, if I ever do plan to get one, prehaps I'll make a spot for a UV tattoo.

UV ink... that's a good idea. Wouldn't stop you from getting some jobs, anyway, as no one would be able to see the tattoo. I do wonder about the effects of having that in your skin, however.
Still, my imagination is running rampant with design ideas.

Most tattooists wont tattoo you with UV ink.
Most of the recent designs done in UV are by artists with UV ink leftover. They can't really get it anymore.

Sounds like there were health issues as I may have predictied or the fact that it is more expensive perhaps?

More then likely health issues. Prehaps some people can handle that amount of metals within their skin. More then likely most couldn't, so I'm sure it had to be stopped in some way.
If I ever could, I would like to get a small UV tattoo. That is if there there is still ink left over.

Hah. My skin can't handle the mercury in red ink ,and those areas become puffy and itchy, particularly in warm weather ( the mercury rising to the surface perhaps? ) so I don't even want to imagine what would occur if I were to have a UV tattoo.

Crap, I was hoping there weren't any negative side-effects. It does look really cool.

Hah. Sad thing really, that was the song, though thankfully the video was done with poor sound quality show you really can't tell unless you listen closely.

It would be really cool to get a UV tattoo but it does seem that it may have harmful side effects .

Lol, I never thought poor sound quality would be a good thing.
The UV thing does sound really cool. That would be an awesome way to have a tattoo without your parents noticing. As long as they don't light the house with black lights... >.<

Heh. What would be the chances of parents having a black light in their house, eh?
Probably alot....

lol. I'm the only one with a black light in my house (when I'm there... I'm at university right now). Speaking of which, I forgot it at home. Oh well, I'm going back soon, so I'll grab it then.

I don't have a blacklight. Though that would be cool to have one. Don't they make white appear much better?
One day, all my light bulbs will be replaced with UV lights.

Absolutely. They also make glow-in-the-dark stuff really bright. It's a cool effect.

I thought that you couldn't get tattoos on the back of the hand because of all the veins? Or is this something I randomly made up? Cuz that has been known to happen...

The veins are deeper than they look. I have a tattoo on each wrist/inner forearm, and I was worried about veins, but the needle doesn't go anywhere deep enough to reach them.
The problem with hand and knuckle tattoos is wear. You use your hands constantly, people are always washing them, getting them knocked about in certain situations ect, and they are one of the most used body parts. This means that the skin in these places renews much more quickly than say...the shoulderblade or lower back. And since the cells are breaking down, flaking away in dead skin ect, so the ink is being broken down and lost also. This happens with all tattoos in time, but on places like the hands, which renew quickly, the process is faster . Also hands are exposed to more UVA/B naturally occurring in daylight than other bodyparts, and sun damage ( which you usually can't see ) really ages and breaks down tattoos also.

Ah, thanks honeythorn. I thought that I had heard somewhere that they wouldn't tattoo on the hands. But thank you for clearing that up.
I don't think I'd get a tattoo anywhere really visible anyway. Tattoos are personal for me and I like being able to choose when to show them off.
