Swans & Jarboe

If a noob is going to make a thread about Evanescence (A band I wish would live up to their name), than I should be able to make a thread about this band. They aren't really goth, but they are really really good.

They were founded in the year of my birth and are absolutely incredible. I just bought their live album, Feel Good Now and I can't get over how huge they sound and before their time they were.

Jarboe, their female vocalist, has an incredible catalog of music herself and her latest album, Mahakali, kicks ass. Also see 13 masks and Anhedoniac. Buy her new album at www.thelivingjarboe.com

These guys were huge contributors and one of the most overlooked bands of all time. With 12 albums to look out for, including live recordings, EP's and Double albums, if you are checking this band out for the first time you can be sure to have your musical appetite filled for some time

Love Swans. Jarboe's pretty awesome, too. She can really perfectly do hard and soft.

No. The difference is that I can distinguish between talent and garbage and you can't.

About time I came across someone who likes SWANS. Good for you, Mr. Filth. Anyone have a particular favourite album? I'm between Children of God and Filth. Cop is good to masturbate to....if anyone is in to that sort of thing.....

I can't really pick a favorite. At the moment I'm listening to Soundtracks for the Blind a lot. Kind of going through a drone phase musically. Have you heard Mahakali yet? A few bits on it really remind me of Swans stuff.

Have you heard Neurosis & Jarboe? Neurosis alone is fucking awesome, and then you add the voice of Jarboe and it's even more kickass.

Yes! I LOVE that album. I recommend you check out A Storm of Light. A band led by Josh Graham, the guy who does Neurosis's visuals. They are amazing.

After listening to only two songs by A Storm of Light, I deffffinitely approve.

Have you ever tripped on acid while listening to Neurosis blasting into a set of headphones and watching the itunes visualizer and doing whip-its at the same time?
Fucking excellent.

hahaha. I've done similar things. Check out the new Jarboe album. It's similar to the Neurosis Jarboe one in a way. Lots of guitars and drones. Phil Anselmo is on one of the songs too. And Attila, from Mayhem.
