Hair Color
Hi sweet goths!
Okay, so my hair is dark-brown and I want to get some little streaks of color on one side, so I thought purple or red, but it's been done a lot and is too popular, so I thought green, but I don't think it would be alright for my day job, so finally I'm thinking about some bright, flashy orange!
So what do you guys think about it, should I go orange? I think it would also be a great way to show how much I love redheads! I dunno why, I just have a thing for redheads, they're so hot with their fair skin and freckles!
I'm part Irish so I've got some freckles too, but I don't have the right hair-color though...
Oh, and pardon my English - I'm part French too! Well, not from France, but from Canada!

Personally, I dislike all forms of orange. I have nothing against redheads, but I think that would look wrong, depending on the shade of your hair. Also, orange isn't a particularly "goth colour" but I suppose you could make it work. Purple or red streaks are quite cliche, but you shouldn't take it for granted that green streaks aren't allowed.

Being a redhead myself, I wouldn't recommend dying it orange. If your hair is brown you could try burgundy or very dark purple, it often looks very nice. A streak of Grey can also look nice if you can pull it off

I've had my hair dyed partly ginger, and I love it. It depends on your skin tone. Who cares if it isn't a goth colour?

I died my hair quite bright orange once.. I looked like a real indie-fag but it wasn't that bad actually.
Without a picture it's very hard to say what might work for you and what might not but you say you have dark-brown hair.. maybe do those orange streaks and add black ones to make it more of a contrast? Yay for Halloween!! And who said orange isn't a goth colour..

I didn't mean that I think its not a goth colour. Just that its not a stereotypical goth colour, which isn't a problem anyway.

Black at the moment.
Thinking of bleaching it so it goes a platinum blonde kinda colour. After I bleach it though I wanna put different colours through my hair (not like rainbows in separate periods). First I wanna try Purple then a dark red and a medium toned blue.
Would purple go through on bleached hair?

Nightmare - Purple actually works better on bleached hair than unbleached (anything unnatural does). Also, if you're going dye different colours consecutively I'd recommend moving along the colour wheel, e.g. from red to purple to blue. That way you don't have to deal with bits of the previous colour contaminating the new colour in an icky way.

Yeah I was thinking something like that.
Can I get it done professionally because my mum won't bleach it?
Is it expensive?

I haven't had anything professionally done in ages, but I'd guess a full head of hair, bleached and dyed, would cost at least $100.
You can bleach it yourself though. I started out with 'Nordic Blonde' from the supermarket (can't remember the brand, it was just the lightest blonde they had). The kind you just mix in a bottle and leave in your hair for 30 minutes or less, easy as fuck, and you can just get a friend to help if you need it. That'll set you back $10.

I was gonna use "like my soul" when I said I have black hair. I've used it too much though I think.

How do you apply it? Is it just as easy as dying your hair?

Oh my goth! Thanks for all your sweet answers! I never thought I'd get so much people to answer me! So I guess I should go for purple/red at first since it's more subtle, and it would look more like Fairuza Balk in Personal Velocity (well, I think it was in this flick...) And as for a picture of me, well, I'm camera-shy, maybe someday, when I finally make up my mind about this new hair-color I'll show it to you all! Thanks again!
