Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Haircut?
Okay. I want a haircut, since I am sick and tired of my long hair, but I'm not sure how short to cut it. This lies in the fact that I have no idea what type of hairstyle my hair is suited for, since it's been styled the same way for 10 years. To make it less of a burden, I have contemplated chopping it off and making something really short, but it seems like too large a risk to take....

Can you post a picture of your face from straight on or something? it'd help us find a hairstyle that is best for you.

Shave off one side of it. That would be hella cool. If the hair's length is bothering you, then maybe put it in a pony tail?

A line? I dunno. As was stated before, we have no idea as to what the shape of your face is. We could suggest something and it look horrible on you. You wouldn't take the advice of a Dr. who's never seen you, right? (yes, I realize it's not as dramatic as all that, but it's a way to get the point across.)

If you do, you might try just having the ends knocked off even, so it's more straight, and style it over your ears and maybe try bangs. Still, you look adorab-- Err, wait.. How old are you?
You look young enough, but old enough that it might be questionable for me to say too much... =P

Maybe get it done a little more choppy, so there is more height on the top... !
Your face still hasn't developed into it's full adult phase, so is still a little round so don't go for anything that sits on your jawline.

If you go shorter, don't go too far above the shoulders, or with your face type you might get that pixie-effect. Talk to your hair stylist and see what he/she says.

I keep my hair clipped pretty short. It looks best on me. Just try different, not dramatic, cuts and see what you like best over the course of a few months.

A few years ago I took a leap of faith and chopped all my hair off. I had inch and a half long spikes and it looked great. (I'm a girl, for the record.) I guess it was a leap of faith on my part but it turned out to be what I wanted.
If you want your hair short, I recommend just chopping it off. Hair grows back... I never saw the point of worry about a bad style.
And for what it's worth, I think you'd look fine, if not great, with short hair. If you're seriously worried, ask your hair stylist before he/she cuts it.
