Gone for a month or so.
I really don't know why I'm posting this here. I'm usually very private with personal stuff.
Anyway, that said, I'm leaving for rehab (again) on Tuesday, for about a month. The only hard thing has been saying a temporary goodbye to my girlfriend of almost four years. I'm not sure whether I'd call it selfishness or concern for her that's getting to me, which of course, leads to more guilt.
We've been through a lot more than most couples our age. Well ok, that's kind of a gross understatement, but I don't feel like rewriting it. But in the almost four years we've been together, we've lost three mutual friends to suicide, seen each other almost die more times than we can count, and been separated against our will for more than a year. I'll spare you all the details.
Basically the hope is to get our shit together finally. It just feels like everything's out of reach at the moment. Plus, there's people who want to throw me in jail, and people who probably (I'm not about to ask) want to kill me. I don't like either of those options.
Anyway, reply, don't reply, I don't care I guess. I guess I'm posting more in the hopes that someone reads something that they need to read, more than looking for input. Oh, and so when you all are missing my smartass comments in the politics and music forums, you know I'm still alive.  So whether you hate me or love me, you'll be seeing more of me.... eventually.

Take the time, use it well. It's a hard path to go, but when you reach the other end, you will be better for it. Just take damn good care, do what you need to do. Your gal will be there when you get out. This place will still be here. We'll make some smartassed comments in your stead.

Well I must say that this is a far better goodbye than the usual "I hate you all burn in hell" type goodbye thread from others.
