I do both and if I could use a gun for the archery targets I would get bulls eyes every time.
With archery alot more things can go wrong. You have to do more then point in the direction of the target(trust me it gets annoying). While Shooting is all about having the gun still and pointing at the target.

But wouldn't you say it takes skill for both?

Yes read above. But there is a reason why guns got picked up. Archery took weeks to get people firing right.

Take someone who has never fired a rifle before, put them 30 feet from a target, and I guarantee they'll hit it at least 5 out of 10 shots. Now take someone who's never fired a bow before, same target, same distance. I doubt they'll hit it 1/10.

Yes and you still have to have muscle control, breathing control, and be ready to place your next shot either close to or through the spot your last round went into.

It does take more skill for archery I readily admitt that, but shooting a firearm isn't point and click, like JCC would have people think.

Yeah. Archery is harder, believe me. But shooting a gun isn't as simple as a lot of people make it, really.

But anyway.

I don't own an firearms, wish I did. Shooting is something I'd love to get into.
I am a fan of air soft though. XD
I absolutely love it.

The only guns I would have apart from competition guns would be largely for history appeal. You know the general AK 47, Luger, MP40 etc

Ooh. Ak 47. That's my gun right there XD
Not legal here though, I believe.

I really like small ones.
They are just cute to me.

Has anyone seen this before:

I used to want that.
And I'm still a big fan of the .45 Hello Kitty:

Though if I got a gun, anything white really.

MP-40's are sweet, same thing with the Luger damn fine craftsmanship,I'm not a fan of the AK but it has it's place in history, and is tough as nails when it comes down to it.

They do have aftermarket finishes, and some come from the factory with your choice of colors for the stock.

It's an AR-15....but why is the pistol grip canted?

Now that I think about it,it's most likely an AR modified to use the pistol grip to cycle the action,I think they have that as a regulation for the UK.

But anywho I would like to teach you shoot if you want to learn, where are you from?

I'm 15. Ha.

But it's cool.
My dad wouldn't let me anyway.
Just like he wouldn't let me box.
Or play football.
Or anything else like that.

Well when you turn 18 you can legally purchase a Long Gun. (And go out with guys in their 20's)

I'd advise you pick up a 22 rifle,a Marlin Model 60 or a Ruger 10/22.

With the 10/22 you can mod the hell out of it (use to be you would've had to to get any accuracy out of them).

With the Marlin Model 60 (At least the one I grew up shooting) they're good to go out of the box.

But if you like a removeable mag,Marlin offers a model 795.

It is all so expensive and tedious. You have to buy a gun. Then you have to buy the bullets. Then you have to hide the bodies in a crawl space.

What is the interest in fire arms? It seems several people here are collectors.

I've been disgusted for a good long time by guns on the principle that their created with the intent of harm.

It's a hobbie as well as a self-defense tool.

It also helps put meat on the table.

Another thing,I live way back in the hills,It's all I have in case someone breaks in and the cops never show up on time (Think 30-40 minutes if you're lucky)

It's the only line of defense for a number of other people.

You don't have to share our interest. Tanks and nuclear cruise missiles are manufactured with the intent to harm mass quantities of people at once, I suggest you direct your disgust in that direction.

People who collect firearms and take the time to learn how to own and use them safely are less harmful than a belligerent government who supplies rocket launchers to terrorists.

Try to keep it in perspective. Most firearm enthusiasts have read Massad F. Ayoob's In the gravest extreme and are fully aware of the legal and mortal consequences of using firearms. You have more to worry about from North Korea than from us.
