Yeah. i kinda got that Shirley. But i figured i'd still have a little fun at my own expense describing my hickgothique attire.
Much confusion could be allayed by simply using the

tag or even mentioning the person's name in which the response is directed.
Not being an ass, just saying.
Good day.

I haven't painted my nails black in about three years. I stopped doing it for a while because my nails became really discolored and gross. Then I just became lazy. I also grew tired of seeing my nail polish chip to kingdom come.

I have never cut myself, I had never heard a "Goth" band outside of The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Bauhus until this site, and I dont always wear black.

Well, I like sunny days and stupid TV shows, and am not a big fan of goth music. Does that count?

Greetings all,
At first glance I am probably the most "unGoth" person imaginable. My hair is unaltered in color and I do not wear makeup or paint my nails. My clothing style is whatever I find comfortable at the time (aside from my required work uniform) and usually consists of khakis and a polo shirt. All of my Gothyness is internal. The decor around my house is slowly starting to show the influences but I severely doubt that I will ever go as far as making my house look perpetually like a Halloween display.
What usually catches people off guard and hints at my Goth nature is my proclivity towards bladed weapons and my very blunt descriptions of their abilities when I teach my defensive tactics classes.
Casual on the outside, Gothy on the inside;
Matt

I am gothic to the core. My beliefs personality and values are all "gothic" even to my dress style. Although I don't believe appearences mean anything to the gothic definition

You think you're gother than me? Huh? I'm so goth that I felled the house of Usher and regularly perform black mass under the ruins. Think again, cheerleader. I'm so goth I'm banned from Italy for ancestral fear. I'm so goth that I have a twin brother who just happens to be a bat. You think you're on my bad side now with your falsities about being chaotic and lonely and prone to wanderlust? A real goth doesn't even have a core. A real goth is all appearances. A real goth doesn't need a core when they have black fishnet stockings and a spiderweb tattooed on their face. No, you know what? A real goth would bully a black widow into spinning a web around their entire head. But you wouldn't know about that, you rainbow-drinking, vitamin D-sufficient, tan-pursuing poseur.

Validean, I hope you're not being serious.
_____________
As for my own ungothiness,
I don't own anything with a skull (as someone else mentionned somewhere in here).
I don't own any fishnet stockings.
I love colour (but not to wear) and go gaga over a nice hue or combination thereof.
I don't have a parasol.
My umbrella isn't black (though it is cane-style, and I have every intention of finding a cheap black umbrella next time I go shopping).
I have been known to listen to Arabic and Bollywood music.
I can't say I like much of Joy Division, and only have a few songs I really like by Bauhaus.
I don't own a set of black pjs.
I don't go for late-night walks in cemeteries (though that's mostly cuz I'd have to travel through the cracked-out area of town to get to the nearest one, and I don't want to do that in the day, let alone in the evening...).
I don't do drugs (unless you count my sane pills and my happy pills).
I like several metal bands.
I have a shirt that's 100% printed in giant blue, green and yellow lips.
I haven't been to a concert that's not classical, flamenco, or celtic.
I don't have any goth friends.
I go to a university that's going out the other side of normal, situated in a town that's going out the other side of normal.
I like the snot-like glue that sticks shampoo samples to their brochures.
And, Ungothiest of all...
*hides in shame*
I've never eaten Count Chocula cereal.

The ungoth things about me are that I have never been to a concert (no matter ow badly i wanted to go to one -_-), I go to a Catholic high school, some people say that I am a generally sweet and nice person. They also say that I can be very likable...
Then its the usual with the others others. If I couldn't care to talk to someone then they do tend to look at me funny. I do get the goth comments and shit from other people, but its all good. LOL.

Let's see...
I'm an anime nerd, I play too much video games, I like Aqua, The Dresden Dolls, Annie Lennox, Yanni, Kitaro, Enya... I'm optimistic about everything 100% of the time, I'm too nice, I like unicorns and fairies, wizards are cooler than you, I listen to Gunther and the Sunshine Girls for kicks and giggles ( I actually kind of like his song "Tutti Frutti Summer Love--it's so addictive), I think winged horses are cool, I laugh too much and smile a lot when I'm around friends--it's like I'm always on caffeine... and yeah, I could go on and on.
Oh yeah, and I'm a Christian. =)

I look more like a business man than a gothic. I still stick to pitch black though.

Wow, this guy reminds me of this kid, AJ (TJ, I dunno) at my school. He tries too hard to be goth... like in Biology he drew a pentagram on his hand and showed it to me, as if he was expecting some sort of praise....
But yeah, anyway, I thought of another ungothy thing about me! =D
I like sappy romance movies and still sleep with my plushies! Mwah. Oh, and I secretly (well not so secret anymore) wear fuzzy pajama pants with little moons and kittens on it... for real. xD

Right. I can see I'm up against some stiff competition here. Let's see.
I LARP. None of that sissy rock-paper-scissors crap, I mean three days i n the woods with no makeup beating other people with duct tape swords.
I'd play D&D if I could find someone to run a campaign. And Shadowrun, and Mage, but I suspect those border on goth.
Being at Star Wars Celebration Europe was almost cooler for me than being in Camden again.
I have more Star Wars shirts than band shirts.
I only have one band shirt.
I can't stand being hot, crowded, and surrounded by cigarette and sundry smoke.
I like neon pink. And neon purple.
Can't stand Dark Crystal.
Dead Can Dance make me want to die.
I'm a natural blonde.
