Privatizing the State

Quote:
Perhaps lost in the Wisconsin shuffle is the story of what exactly is happening in Michigan. Newly elected Republican governor, Rick Snyder, is set to pass one of the most sweeping, anti-democratic pieces of legislation in the country – and almost no one is talking about it.
|
Quote:
According to the law, which has already been approved in the House, the governor will be able to declare “financial emergency” in towns or school districts and appoint someone to fire local elected officials, break contracts, seize and sell assets, and eliminate services.
Under the law whole cities or school districts could be eliminated without any public participation or oversight, and amendments designed to provide minimal safeguards and public involvement were voted down.

Well on the bright side it has to potential for America to show the world how a monarchy is properly run. But really couldn't this be considered unconstitutional?

The problem is the Republicans and the Tea Party supporters mistook the low Democratic voter turnout of the midterms for a mandate. In 2012, I guarantee you that pendulum swings back the other way ... because A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE ANGRY ... and they WILL vote.

And if that doesn't work, I'm about ready to break out the Guillotine.
Seriously, I find myself being pushed further and further left these days. I really don't want things to come down to direct action, 'cause I have other things I'd rather be doing with my life, but if stuff around here gets much worse...
yeah.

It's not new, this is the exact path America has been on for decades. This is an escalation, but unless the average American wakes up you can expect even more dire laws to come into effect.
Did anyone else see the documentary 'Inside Job'?
