Anyway, I hug people all the time and it's not allowed, the idea is to A) do it so much, teachers don't bother telling you off for it any more or B) be strategic.

Meh, at my school not only is PDA banned, but having friends more than two years older or younger than you is 'strongly discouraged'. Doesn't stop anything happening. What are you gonna have? A zero tolerance hug prevention squad?

My feelings are divided on this issue. On one hand, watching the average teenage couple flirt is extremely unpleasant for me, so I would not be opposed to the prohibition of such activity. On the other hand, how to remove a bra with one hand was practically the only thing I learned within the hallowed halls of Manhasset High, and I'd be loath to live in a world in which I'd have absolutely nothing to show for my four years of secondary school education.
As someone who has taught high school students, I can say affirmatively that flirting is one of the most annoying ways in which some pissbrain kid can disrupt a class. However, a rule against flirting seems a bit redundant, as there is already a "don't fucking disrupt my class" rule.

I really don't get what all the fuss is about. My opinion is that if your upset about the rules forbidding hugging etc. then do it anyway. The most I learned out of school was that you can do what ever the hell you want, as long as you don't get caught.

JCC I have no idea that you could handle it but from the perspective of someone who has studied teens it looks quite clearly as though most cannot.

Look, all of this 'teens can't handle it' is just as baseless as 'lots of blacks can't handle it' or 'lots of women can't handle it'.
There's absolutely nothing that suggests they can't handle it other than your own experiences with the people you've met, and it's sheer arrogance that would lead you to projecting that on to the entirety of teenagers as if you have an experience of all of them.

Our school is really lazy about this, we can do it as long as management don't know, and they just never emerge from their cosy little hidey-holes in which they natter mindlessly on to each other about school uniforms and a feeling of unity in school and curriculum for excellence and whatever else they talk about.
I hug my friends routinely everyday, and I've seen some over-the-top and inappropriate making-out in my school years.
Nobody cares.
