Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

They're a fun band, but not a great one. I like "Feel Berlin."

hm, Feel Berlin is a pretty good song, but they've done better. Brandon Lee is another good one though

I'm also a fan of 'Feel Berlin' but not much else. A lot of the lyrics really have that "We're trying really hard to be gothic" feel, and that doesn't do much for me. They're fun, not super amazing.

Not in love and I don't really consider them 'epic' but I enjoy listening to them and a handful of their songs-
Sleeping with Lions, Brandon Lee and Betty Blue have been a resident in my cellphone's play list for quite a time now.

I like them, but I don't consider them goth. They're more a kind of Jim Grecoesque Hollywood sleaze...

For some reason, I find The 69 Eyes very irritating.

I never got into the whole Scandinavian vaguely gothic glam rock thing. Sorry.

I must admit I do love the 69 eyes but then again I am a sucker for most Scandinavian (especially Finnish) things.

I think they're okay, but they don't really evoke any major emotional response from me. I much prefer Type O or the Sisters of Mercy as far as that kind of vocals is concerned...

Oh yes. I love them. Though, I think they used to be better. The best around Wasting the Dawn. Before they "turned goth". Which they didn't.
Now I'm into KMFDM, feeling the same thing. Damn, they're hard!

I wouldn't say I am in love with them, although I like the song "Gothic Girl" and a few others.

I like them, but I can see how people would look at them and say they are trying too hard to be a gothic band. I mean, they have a mixture about their music. Most of their early albums were very glam, then Paris Kills, Wasting the Dawn and Blessed Be became more of a gothic/hard rock style, Devils had a gothic/hard rock style as well, and Angels was.....well.....not gothic, it was glam again.

Not into their most reecent stuff, but I like all the stuff before that. Framed in Blood is my favourite song by them.
I don't think they look as if they try too hard. I think for them it's just part of their stage get up.
