????????????????????????

Hey. I just recently joined the site and am happy I finally found some people I can relate to. My friends aren't gothic even though there is one. We talk during school but he hasn't talked to me this summer. I'm not complaining though. Anyway, I absolutly love HIM and AFI and most other goth/rock bands. I live in SC and I have a problem expressing my "gothness" because of my parents. I don't have a lot to say and that's all I've got.

You seem to believe that HIM and AFI are goth rock bands. However, you type properly and do not appear to be a troll. Wikipedia can enlighten you as to what bands are "goth," I urge you to use it...

Anyway, welcome.

PS. The form with questions magically loads if you click on "Here" in Lady Victoria's post.

First Off, What Do You Consider Goth Rock Bands??

I Have No Hobbies And I Live In South Carolina. I Don't Read Much But I Like Edgar Allan Poe. I Don't Have A Favorite Movie And I Haven't Decided The Music I Want Played At My Wedding And Funeral. I Don't Know How I'm Going To Die. I'm In Between A Couple Options Right Now. I Don't Have A Favorite Outfit And I Don't Miss Much About Being A Kid. I Have A Good Education And I Don't Know My Major Yet. The Only Reason I Can Think Of That I Joined The Site Is That I Can Finally Connect With People More Like Me. If You Couldn't Tell, I Am A Female And For The Time Being I Am Totally Fuckin' Single And It Sucks!!

How Was That?
A Better Description?

Yep, I meant, "at least", sorry for the irony of the situation. But english is not my first language and I always have troubles with "least" and "last".

Yeah, sorry, it's considered screaming.
Goth rock bands I would consider them to be more like Lacrimosa, and even Evanescence (they might be too mainstream for their own good, but Amy Lee still rocks)

I also like HIM. Maybe some songs in the middle of their career would be considered somehow gothic (like The Sacrament) but their last works just aren't the same.
And, AFI? Nah.

I like the fact that you didn't write 666 in your screen name.

Peace Out.

Hello, Goth bands are bands such as Siouxsie & the Banshess, Alien Sex Fiend and The Cure... you know happy music, none of this depressive bands like AFI and HIM(Faux-Goth bands are often three letter acronyms how odd).
But you spell correctly and seem intelligent, if a bit deluded. Welcome enjoy your stay.

You're a very nice baby bat, and welcome. Pretty much all the "goths" have gone through a stage of finding the subculture, and of course that comes with misonception. I suggest, as Bete Noir mentioned, visiting http://en.wikipedia.org and looking up "goth rock" and "goth". They have very good, yet indescriminative definitions. As for how to get a hold of genuine "goth" music, you can look for them in music stores, but you might be luckier using Limewire. I would suggest starting with more accessible music like Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and the Sisters of Mercy, and from there you can inspect more odd bands like Bauhaus, Christian Death, the Virgin Prunes, Abney Park, etc.
