Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

Recommend me ....

some new music. I am partial to the more guitar based old school stuff such as The Mission, FOTN, Sisters etc. If there anyone working in that late 80's vein that is worth checking out?

FINALLY a thread I can get into. Check out Witching Hour, Nosferatu, Stare, Autumn, Brotherhood of Pagans, The Daughters of Bristol, 13 Candles, The Wake, Angina Pectoris, Bay Laurel, Dark Side Cowboys, The House of Usher, The Garden of Delight, Love Like Blood, Rosetta Stone... there's bound to be something in there you'll enjoy.

Brilliant stuff Draconysius..only actually heard of Rosetta Stone...saw them many years ago playing at The Monkey Club in Swindon. I will check out these bands when I get some time on my hands.

Thanks for taking the time to reply

also took a look at your, to be fair, copious list of Gothic bands. Loads of stuff to check out. Do you mind if I link that list to my blog?

From what you mentioned in the original post you might like Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The March Violets, and Ex-Voto if you don't already know of them.

Check out the Spider Hole on My$p@c3. They are a little local band near me (in AZ, USA) and they don't have their wrists stapled to their foreheads. Also, for old skool, check out Two Witches from back in tha day, yo.

I'm not that old, but I've got some vinyls. Ausgang's "King Hell b/w Armadillo Man and Ten Year-Old Bastard Children" is probably my favorite of the few I have.
