Cat crazy 28 yr old female - Edinburgh
Hi my names Rachel *waves*.
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
Studying Biology. Photography, particularly macro ( I would link it but don't think I'm allowed urls yet, it's lunarrastar on LJ??) Slave to my 3 cats. Making things constantly like jewellery and clothes, clubbing, films, sci-fi, web design. Yoga and meditation. I lovvvvve films, we have a home projector set up it's amazing., my fiance is collecting vampire films.
2. Where are you from?
I live in Edinburgh, it's mad at the moment with the fringe festival. I saw an outdoor performance of Romeo and Juliet last night which was great as I'd neer seen a Shakespeare play before, the language is hypnotic and the costues were divine . I'm going to see the circus of horrors tonight!!
3. Who is your favorite author?
I have loads of favourite authors but I'm enjoying .....Bill Bryson - a short history of nearly everything ..at the moment.
4. What are your favorite films?
I love science fiction, comedy, horror and thoughtful things but there are just classics like labyrinth and Nightmare before christmas.
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Harp, we are plannng it at a scottish castle.
6. At your funeral?
I don't want to die.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
I don't I'd like to live forever, see how we progress
8. What kind of casket would you want?
Lined in red satin.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
My deadly girlz black and white striped corset with my burlesque skirt bustle skirt, knee high boots and matching blck and white stripy swaroski choker.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Being well and feeling safe.
11. What's your favorite band?
VNV nation, The cruxshadows and The birthday massacre. Nine inch nails though i was soo gutted i missed them play on Tuesday near us.
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Studying Biology with the Open university.
13. Why did you join?
I have to study from home as I'm ill and I get bored, i wanted to chat to people who i have stuff in common with, it's easier to chat to goths because we tend to share the same music and film tastes. Also alot of goths i find are creative making their own clthes and jewellery and it's nice to share ideas.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female

Hello! If that's you in your avatar, you don't look 28! You could pass for 19 or so, IMO. Love your hair! I'm into photography too. Do you have a good macro lens set, or what? I love taking portraits more than anything, because I'm not the best at landscapes, but I do well at macro also.

I love taking my cats portraits, argh wish i could post some photo links , how many posts do i need before i can?
Iv'e got a kodak 7590 which only cost me about 300 pounds (450 dollars) and its got a surprisingly good macro in good lighting but not full slr capability, it was the best available before slr, it's got an amazing 30x zoom but you need a tripod or the shake is bad at that zoom ... so i steal my boyfriends canon eos, he brings it home at weekends from work .
LOL I'm always getting told I look young, that was me 3 years ago at 25, hairs black now like in my profile picture, i miss the red, growing it out back to red now which shall take forever and i will die of boredom LOL.

Excellent, which fields of biology are you studying?

Oh my, is it one of those old fashioned black and white projectors or a proper projector? It would be lovely to see Bela's performances screened through an ancient projector.

The Labyrinth is most certainly a favourite classic of mine.

O.o
You damn lucky girl. That would be glorious.
Wow, very interesting indeed, and I must also comment on your vivd red hair, it looks fantastic but if you're wanting a formal wedding, black would certainly do you more justice.
A hearty welcome and please do stay and contribute.

You can't post picture links? Damn, that must be frustrating. If my estimate is correct by believing the admin's definition of a regular is Elder Goth then you won't be able to until you get to 500 posts, but I have a feeling it might be less.

It's a modern one from his job, he brings it home when he's not teaching at museums. But we have a vampire download collection and the black and white ones look great through it.

We are going up North to EIlean Donan castle, one of the most famous in Scotland to exchange our engagement rings in September. We hoped to go to Paris but I can't fly as I'm not too well but driving for a few hours will be OK. I am ridiculously excited as we've had the rings for 4 months, we just didnt want to do it in a restaurant or something

I'm planning on having it black as it'll be in 3 years and the dress in a dark red satin. I found the most amazing design online with wings incorporated.

That's strange if i can't participate in photo posts or link anything for 500 posts.
It's mostly the photo thing, like posting pics of my kittys .

It's not so strange I guess, it's probably done to prevent trolls from spawning pornographic links and that usual sort of trash. I don't fully understand the 500 post limit... maybe try posting parts of a link and then telling people to take spaces out of them to allow them to see your kitty pictures?
Indeed, Mr Bowie is amazing in that film, I might just happen to go and watch that in the morning.
And animals are indeed fascinating, I suppose you are delving into topics on larger animals? I was at one point preparing to study Microbiology but Biology itself would be a smashing subject by itself I guess.
*Edit*
I quite like your musical tastes, but by chance have you happened to have come across Switchblade Symphony? If you like darkwave and some of the bands you have mentioned, I'm sure SS would tickle your fancy.

I wonder if you'll be able to work this out, lol the only way it would let me post it is like that, if you put the lunarrastar with the DOT and coom with one less o and then add on the photo extension you can see this amazing 7 foot tall castle my boy made!!!!
If you want to repost the link for anyone else in case they cant figure it out thatd be cool too but if not no worries

Hello and welcome to the boards. Watch out for the egg. He's not yet hatched and seems a bit cracked.
I look forward to sharing your photography and creativity.

Phenomenal costumes, Tristanna!! Kudos to you both. Also, I love the the photo you took of your kitten. She's adorable, and the photo was very well done.

He made a kitty castle? Oh my, that's one of the best ideas ever! And your kitties look adorable as well, as well as your soon to be hubby, he doesn't look too bad in an angel costume.

I adore animals too, and I plan on studying those exact same things if I do zoology at university next year, hoping to major in animal behaviour.
Welcome to Gnet, it'll be great to have a fellow biologist around!

Well the egg.
From a evolutionary point of view the ancestor of the chicken would have laid eggs...So when the modern day chicken was finally produced it would be from a egg. However its hard to tell where we call it the ancestor or the chicken as the line is blurred in between both species.
So basically its the argument of where the chicken as the species actually came about. As because the phenotype and genotype of the parents of the chicken would be very similar(Unless it was like from a nuke like how Godzilla was made XD )but they wouldn't be classed as fully chicken..If any of this makes sense ..please someone say so.=p
