Also notice that the forum seems to completely disagree with him about Led Zeppelin being metal.

Please. Look at my argument. My argument is that Led Zeppelin was heavy enough to be Heavy Metal and were frequently described and accepted as such. Yours is "lol no der not".

The same goes for you calling them a metal band. Just cause you say so it doesn't make them metal. Understand? They are a great hard rock band but they aren't metal.

They are a Hard Rock band. There is nothing wrong with that. Why do you so desperately want them to be a metal band? You are wrong dude. No shame in that. Just because a hard rock band uses the kick drum and electric guitar now and then doesn't equate them to metal. It simply doesn't work like that. It really doesn't need to be argued any further than that. They aren't metal because they are hard rock. Simple.

My argument is "lol no der not" because all evidence points toward them being Hard Rock.
You know what, if Led Zeppelin are heavy enough to be Heavy Metal, then so is Clutch, Böhse Onkelz, UFO and Free.

It's okay, albert. Sanguine Mind doesn't know what metal is either. Maybe you guys can hang out and leave the rest of us, who agree with what the metal community regards as metal, alone.

You know? You can create your own little bizzaro metal microcosm where all other music genres can somehow be considered metal just because you say so. It'll be fun. Go on now. Scamper off and have fun in pretend land.

"Hard Rock" is an umbrella term. Heavy Metal falls under it. If you want a song where the term "Hard Rock" could be used specifically, try The Kinks' "You Really Got Me" or Coven's "Dignitaries of Hell".

Neither of those bands are metal either.

Seriously. What the hell is wrong with you? It reminds me of kids trying argue marilyn manson and rob zombie being goth. It's just wrong. You're wrong. Sorry.

Oh, God. I thought I made it fucking clear. Here. I'll expand on my simple previous statement.
"Hard Rock" is an umbrella term. Yes, Heavy Metal falls under it, so it's not especially bright to call early Metal bands "Hard Rock" as opposed to "Heavy Metal". Other Genres that fall under "Hard Rock" are Punk, Grunge, and probably a few others. While generally an umbrella term, it can also-and here's the hard part-be used to refer to songs such as the Kinks' "You Really Got Me" and Coven's "Dignitaries of Hell". If you can't by listening to those songs, they're much, much softer than Zeppelin, BOC, Sabbath, and other pioneering Metal bands.

Metal falls under hard rock the same way Albert Mond ignoring my comments makes him win the argument. It doesn't. He's wrong. He's wrong and its sad.

Rock and Roll is the umbrella. Not hard rock.

Hard Rock falls under Rock and Roll. Metal falls under Rock and Roll.

Hard Rock doesn't become metal and metal doesn't become hard rock.

You can even hear some metal bands, like Amon Amarth say "Are you ready for some rock and roll!" when they perform live. They don't say "Are you ready for some hard rock and prog!"

Lol... It seems like everything here turns into an argument. Well, thanks for all the metal bands.

I'm going to have to agree with ets here though.

Let me add that the meaning of words change overtime. As such, our terms used to define music will change.

What? Are you saying that "pretty much every" now means "absolutely every"??? I've got more question marks than necessary, therefore whatever you said must be absolutely ridiculous.

Ok then, answer this, how many of the bands that Eclipsing The Son listed are actually death metal?
