I'd never use the ignore feature on here because I don't post enough to consider needing it. Its just faster to skip past it all, even the trollish posts. Trolls are usually ignored by me in IRC, though. Fifty thousand repeated posts of "lol" in a row in a span of 5 seconds is brutal.

But ignoring someone simply because I don't agree with them or they're having an argument/debate with me? Foolish.

Yeah? Calling people foolish for not dealing with things the same way you do, that's foolish.

The fucking temerity. Christ.

lol...you two just sounded like two cartoon characters...anyhoo...I've never used the ignore feature in my life nor do I wish to. It just sets up too many boundaries and stops ppl from really getting to know each other.

Mir- I view it foolish or childish when people just don't want to hear another viewpoint different then their own. They could listen to what's being said instead of going "Oh, you don't agree? IGNORE."

That is their problem. Calling them names accomplishes what exactly?

That was a rhetorical question.

It's not foolish, it's just rude.

And you being on this forum doesn't accomplish anything either.

I don't use it because people disagree with me. I use it when I feel that the other person doesn't have anything useful to say, and is simply using me as a verbal punching bag. [You can disagree with me all you want, just don't be an immature a-hole about it.] Or if they are an insufferable troll. Or are discussing certain fetishes that I'd rather not know about on just about everything they post.

I've had to deal with enough frustrating and crude people IRL. Why should I have to deal with it on t3h Internetz if I don't want to?

Edit: Yes, I've been an immature a-hole myself before, and why people didn't put me on ignore then is beyond me. I guess some folks like dr4m4 in every aspect on their lives...even online.
