Rent
So I was watching Nip/Tuck earlier this evening (don't ask, it's one of my vices.) and I saw a preview for the hollywood version of Rent (as in the musical for you uncultured shitbricks)
Now I loved the musical, hell I pawned off my TV once to take my wife to go see it when it was showing in SF. And I'm of two minds of this. Part of me is glad to see that a movie was finally made, and I'm looking forward to it's release. But on the other hand I'm worried that the silver screen just won't do the play justice (shortened for time and such).
Discuss.

Nothing to discuss. "Rent"=bad updating of "Les Miserables", which was a so-so opera based upon a great (if mind-numbingly long) novel by Victor Hugo.

I actually .. Never heard of it before until after I saw Team America (they do a Rent spoof at the begining), and as it turns out, my girlfriend is a Rent freak. So, even if it does suck pickle, I want to take her to see it.

I love the movie version of it. I haven't gotten a chnace yet though to go see it on a stage. But the movie was very good, and I loved it. My ex-friend and I are Rent freaks.

The on-screen version was good, I think, however I never got to see it on stage so I can't really compare the two. I would love to see it live some day.

I love the music... I did an audition for a part in this musical in May, so I got quite into that. I've never seen it, though, which annoys me to no end.

Oh my goth, I love Rent! I saw it in Minneapolis live, with Constantine Maroulis as Roger. Yes, before Constantine was on American Idol. And I'm in love with him. We're going to be married. Don't tell him, though-- I'd like to break the news to him myself.
