leave it at that gage for a little bit that way if there is any swelling, wich doesn't always happen right away, then there wont be a problem...and it is my personal opinion that gaged septums look tacky.

i've had it pierced for about 8 hours. there's no swelling but when i smile it gets a little sensitive because it moves the earing up..but nothing to be in pain about, its pretty good right now actually, im surprised and happy about it. i wouldn't go any bigger than a 14 guage..just that most jewellery for this piercing is a 14 g. would a horseshoe shaped ring be easy for me to flip up into my nose to hide it? my parents don't know i did this.

I just got my first cartilage piercing a week ago. How the heck do you keep your hair out of the way for the 10-12 weeks of healing time? I keep getting my hair caught around the earring, and then I have to yank at it to get it off, which can be painful.

I'm really happy with it though, despite my minor quibble, and now I'm wondering what else to get pierced.

I really want an anti-eyebrow piercing, but with the lower end farther in than the top, rather than father out. Sort of like this. I'm still thinking though, and I've basically decided that if I still want it in two years, when I go in to get my tattoo, I'll talk to Jimi (the tattoo guy) and see if I can work out an appointment to get it done. Besides, by that point I'll have had plenty of time to talk my parents into it. I'll be close to graduating, sure, but still living at home so yeah. And although it's supposedly like, one of the most painful piercings done, I really like clavicle piercings... I just want one, on the right side, but I don't think I'll ever do that. Maybe a surface bar just below the bone, but the full-blown thing, no way. Why must pain be so, well, painful?
