Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Music for Intimate Encounters
My roommate has given me a copy of a compilation disc that he made for use during "intimate encounters". Now, I admit, he did put forth a somewhat decent effort, but it seems to lacking in variety. I have always been of the belief that if you are to going make a cd, unless it is meant to only have one band, should contain different bands/ artists on every track.
What I am hoping for, is what some of the members here enjoy listening to while "in the act", to enhance their experience. Here is my roommates list thus far:
1. Not Justified - The Azoic
2. Fuck me - KMFDM
3. Christfuck - Wumpscut
4. Send Me An Angel - Zeromancer
5. Ich Will Dich - Wumpscut
6. Kiss - London After Midnight
7. Neo Geisha - Zeromancer
8. Modern Angel - Front 242
9. I Touch Myself - Geni Torturers
10. Need You Like A Drug - Zeromancer
11. I Ran - Flock of Seagulls - (Why did this make it on here?)
12. Ava Adore - Smashing Pumpkins
13. Animal - KMFDM
14. **** Me - London After Midnight
Knowing that the community here, collectively, knows more of the music of our culture than I alone, I believe that this list can greatly improved upon.

What kind of intimate encounter is that? HAHA. I'm just playing.
I'd add "cavity" by Christian Death
"Cuts You Up" by Peter Murphy
"Coming Down Fast" by Daniel Ash
"Oh my Goth" by Razed In Black
"Butterfly On A Wheel" by The Mission UK

"Oh My Goth" is a good one.
I suggest "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails.

After Dark - Tito and Tarantula. If you've seen From Dusk til Dawn you'll understand.
3 Libras - a Perfect Circle
Cums a Wolf - Neon Rome

Does anyone else find it a bit funny to see that the word "fuck" is not censored? Yet, the four letter word used to describe "the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse." is censored.
Just an observation.

Eeeeehhhh, most of the music listed here would not put me in a mood for sex.
If anything, it's got to be downbeat and fairly unobtrusive. Like stuff by Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Portishead, or Thievery Corporation.

@Viscus - I definitely agree with you that Massive Attack and Portishead can lead to some fun times. But, sometimes some of us get in the mood for something a little more upbeat.
Portishead's self titled album is still my favorite for sex, and can never probably be replaced, if only for the good memories associated with it.

As much as I love Nine Inch Nails, I think that is an entirely over rated song for "intimate encounters." It's a fun song to listen to, and one of my favorite, but somehow just seems lacking in the way of making me interested.

I'd second Massive Attack. Especially the entirety of the Mezzanine album. I don't think there is a track on there that wouldn't put me in the mood.
I'd also throw in Peaches Fuck the Pain Away.
Also, Prince's Sexy MF. You can't have a proper intimate compilation without some Prince.

Personally, that song wouldn't want to make me do anything. It's fast and upset and techno-like, but I really don't like Peach's voice. It's more of a dance type song. But I don't listen to it often, so I could be off.

You may as well put in "Baby Got Back," LOL.

Eccentric - Magenta
That's actually a fairly sensual song, but kinda campy for an intimate encounter.
Android Lust may also contain a few songs that's more sexual. It's kind of Ambient.

I thought Android Lust was EBM, rather than Ambient?
I think Ethereal and Shoegaze has been better in my experience (no pun intended), though honestly In The Flat Field+Go Away White was not unappealing as a background.
To me, the sound and atmosphere is more important than just having suggestive lyrics..

That's debatable. Android_Lust sounds nothing like And One or Modulate.

Perhaps, but they don't sound anything like Brian Eno, Steve Roach or even Sunn O))), so I wouldn't call them Ambient either.

"I'll Fall With Your Knife" by Peter Murphy. For my wife and I, it's our song.
Also, "Lips Like Sugar" by Echo & the Bunnymen.

I definitely agree with the Android Lust and Peter Murphy suggestions.
I'm personally a big fan of the low, grinding sensuality of Type O Negative's October Rust album for intimate encounters. Also, Adam Ant's "Vampires."
