Poe
There's plans of making a biographical movie about Edgar Allan Poe to be released on 2008.
But you know what I hate?
It's set to be directed by Silvester Stallone!
Tim Burton wanted to make a movie about Edgar Allan Poe, but now he can't because this one's already planned!!
Fucking change directors!
The only two directors worthy of making a film of Edgar Allan Poe are Tim Burton and Stanley Kubrick.

If Sylvester Stallone is capable of directing a movie about Poe, then I'm capable of memorizing the holy Koran while dying my hair blonde. I might as well be a suicide bomber. Stallone directing a movie about Poe is the root of all terrorism. Geez, Where is God when you need him? ;P

Why is he doing this? Somehow, in my head, the two just don't connect.
*disappointment*

I wouldn't be so quick to judge down Stallone. He's got quite a brilliant mind behind that stupidlooking appearance.. but I'm also quite confused as why they chose him over Tim Burton. Why not make two movies?

I say we make a bogus offer for Stallone to shoot Rocky 6...thousand, and distract him long enough for Tim to film Poe.

Maybe with Stallone at least it'll be more concerned with fact and not all stylized. I love Tim Burton, but I wouldn't want him to do a biography on me.

Sounds good to me, who's sending the offer though?

Don't talk shit about Sly.
Rambo will blow your pale asses away.
I might prefer another director, but that director certainly wouldn't be someone like Tim Burton, who has always been more concerned with grim ambiance than the facilitation of drama. Besides, let him get his hands on a Poe biography and a week after the premiere every mallgoth in the country would be running around QUOTHEING TEH RAVEN, and I can't bare to see that happen to literature.

Mmm, touche...
To think! The same might happen to Lovecraft what with that shitty-looking movie coming out in the not-too-distant future! It'll be like, "Cthulhu LOVES YOU" or something equally inane...

I believe that Tim Burton wanted to make a movie based off one of his stories, not his life.

Mreh! That is all I need to fully realize (finally) that man is absurd, and dare I say, pathetic.
Alas, I'm still worried about the role that
http://www.cthulhuthemovie.com/
will play in the bastardization of great literature...

I'm not sure the 2007 Cthulhu Movie will really have any effect on the populace's perception of Lovecraft's work. As I understand it, it's a character study which makes use of the Mythos as a lens through which we view the struggles of a gay dude in a small town, which sounds pretty cool to me. Looks like it won a ton of awards too...

I had this big long ramble that I just didn't think conveyed my opinion, so I'll just sum it up right here:
Instead of making a stink right away, I'll believe it when it passes the planning stage...

Makes sense. That was probably the greatest horror they found.
