It would not open for me and sent my PC antivirus into a loop, had to reboot and lost many files I had open.

This is why virus' propagate at social networking sites such as myslut. Did you not see the URL? Sure it said "LA Times Article" but shouldn't smouch.net/lol tip you off that what you are clicking on IS NOT an LA Times article?
Half of the time i'm a bit leery of clicking on CptSternn's links because he uses TinyURL and i can't see where it's taking me.
Common sense and diligence goes a long way on teh int0rwebz.

I use TinyURL because the previous mods banned yah00 links since I posted them so often. I assumed that the short link was some other sort of similar service.
And like the TinyURL links, which you yourself mention, there is no reason to believe that someone would post something other than what they claim it is supposed to be, especially in the POLITICS section of the forums.
You might be 'leery' of my links, but to date I haven't ever sent ye off on a page full of scripts and or malicious code now have I?

Sternn, i know you didn't miss my point.
i used your links as an example because you're the only one, i think, to use TinyURL. i am leery but i do click on your links and even the one Joker posted because i'm confident of my computer's safety. And i make sure if i'm working on something....that fucker is backed up properly. You never know when you might decide to firebomb GNet.

i don't know what happened to Sternn's computer. Avast didn't alert me of a virus. And i have flash blocked for my Firefox so...all i saw were Rick heads...and that fucking script that makes you click "ok" once i allowed the flash to play...i used that thing back in '96 to fuck with people on my old geocities site. Again, annoying as fuck yet pretty harmless.

Mond, i'm referring to the script that won't let you leave a page without clicking "Ok" on a little popup thing. i don't even recall the code now. But when i had it on my site i had "The Raven" one word at a time. It didn't stay there long.
