Don't you think that this would be difficult to do considering the fact that I'm still a beginner?
It is kind of abstract, and my art teacher has told me that abstract paintings are more difficult; therefore, I should stick to more straight to the point, concrete(?) ones.

In my opinion it would be much easier to do abstract because of the lack of realistic perspective and human anatomy and such.
I can't recommend too many realistic artists as I like Giger, Bosch, Hokusai... Although maybe a detail from Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights" could be fun to reproduce!
By the way, in your previous post, succubus, that would be more likely be a Japanese woman you are going to paint. At least she is dressed in traditional Japanese garb.

Sorry, my bad. I always get confused between the Chinese and the Japanese cultures.

However, succubus, if you'd like something more elaborate I believe a typical Maiko costume may be more fun to paint. Google?

I'm looking up Maiko costumes right now. But what I meant is that I need two pics with different topics, one to paint at home and another to paint in class.
By the way, I've started drawing the Geisha girl you gave me, but I don't know whether I'm going to keep it the same or draw her wearing a Maiko costume.

Ohh, I don't have any!!I forgot to take pictures!
But I can describe the way I looked: I had white powder on my face with red lipstick in the center of the lips and black eyeliner on my eyelids.I put mascara on my teeth since Geishas used to stain their teeth black.(I brushed my teeth several times as soon as her speech was done)
Then, we pulled my hair up in a high bun and stuck metallic things in my hair.
As for my clothes, I wore a printed kimono which had the color red in it since red is a vital component of a geisha's kimono.

I should soooo dress as a geisha. I just have to find me a decent not too expensive Kimono.. (which I've been searching for for almost 8 months now.)

Oh it's so much fun. I dressed up as a Geisha on one of my trips to Kyoto. It was expensive, but worth it because the costume and make-up were done by women who used to be invovlved in the whole Geisha thing (They were ex-Geisha, I think). The wig and headress were ridiculously heavy, and I was glad to get out of the dress because it was so tight around my chest. They're designed to make your breasts as much of a "non-event" as possible, and it nearly killed me. But I felt glorious for 30 minutes

You have a natural talent for oil painting, I'd say. Very nice! I took a whole class on oil painting, but have nothing so beautiful to show for it. Great job! I'd like to see more.

Thanks sexy. I can only dream of having my work as cover art at this point. Jim Carrey huh? hehehe well I believe that would be a compliment for Mr. King, but not so much for Mr. Carrey. I love Stephen, he's very sweet in person. His "creepiness" is a stigma attached due to his writings (and living in a swamp by himself in Maine), but he's really a nice person.

We seem to have a bit in common Doubie My avatar is a photo of a drawing of mine. I took the photo when I was stoned and thought it was cool... hehe... I obviously still do, since I have it as my avatar. Can you make out what it is?

a person spewing something forth from their mouth?
It kind of looks like a tattoo in your avatar I think I thought it was.

It's smoke she's spewing forth...
The drawing was done with pencil and charcoal. I wish I had a proper photo of it, not just this upside-down, at an angle photo. But I'm a bit shy about showing my "art".

Thank you succubus. I might just do that. This encouragement is actually making me excited about investing in some materials I think I'll finally buy those cans of spray paint I've been hesitating over...
