Demin? Ok then... Why don't you just get a regular DENIM jacket and dye it?

I did that to an old denim jacket and cut out the sleeves. It worked wonderfully. The only reason I threw it away is b'cause it made me look 3x fatter than I really was.

Dogpile used to make lots of black denim jackets...plain and bondage style. Also, Lip Service and Tiger of London does a lot of black denim stuff.

Buy a cheap denim jacket and use the kind of dye that you put in the washing machine along with the clothes to be dyed... it's REALLY hard to fuck it up, unless you're retarded and buy pink dye or something. Trust me you will not mess up your jacket. The only possible reason for not doing it is laziness.

Then once it's done you can sew stuff like patches, badges, strips of webbing, buckles, chains, etc. on to the jacket to make it look funky without spending zillions of dollars.

I just bought this super cool black denim jacket from Sears for $20. They had other colors, too.

I never had problems finding black denim items even though I buy lots of black denim or cotton twill and sewn a number of outfits.

HOWEVER, I must advise anyone that if you use dyes, make sure the denim is 100% cotton. There are few denims that have some polyester blends, it makes it harder for the fabric to absorb the dyes and will run (or rub) on you.

I remember seeing a bunch of cheapo(in pricing, not quality) denim jackets (black & other colors) at Wal*Fart..
Maybe you could try stores like those?
If you have a Thrift Store in your area, you may find one there as well..
If one from the above places is too plain for you, go for the DIY and alter it to your liking.

How much do you charge, DarkGent? I have someone who can design, but I have no one to put the designs together. Maybe I should take up sewing as a hobby. I have a machine but currently lack the patience.

Well, I did figure an approximate estimate on the cost and amount of fabric required.
Depending on size as well, but the black denim goes for about $14.98 per metre. Most patterns call for about 3.5 to 5 metres, depending on style and how long the coat length is desired.
For my services of making the items, I charge about $15 - 25/hour OR depending on the project I can go with negotiable flat rate.

I no longer do anyhting with leather, because it's just too expensive to work with and had many machines breaking from the stress of it.

Today, I just picked up some Santana black denim for only $4.49/m. Nice stuff. I have very interesting ideas with this.

I also got some Black Twill, this stuff works very nicely too.

I got an awesome deal on 10 metres of black bull denim for $14.98/m plus 50% off discount, which came down to almost $80 for the entire bolt.
