I'm more of a corporate/neo victorian goth (strange mix eh?) but I voted cyber because when they get it right, it is stunning.

Are platforms really associated with cybergoth? I have never actually thought about it before. In any case, Deathrock, if I had to choose.

Oh god yea. They're cyberXCORE.

They basically just make any outfit look more futuristic.

But platforms are a goth thing in general. I guess its the 6, 7, 8 inch ones that have the trademark cyber look.

I have problems with heels in general, because I am terribly uncoordinated. I don't fall, because I have good reflexes (klutzy w/ good reflexes, what an oxymoron) so I usually manage to right myself before I hit the ground, but it still looks pretty stupid.

I love both styles.

I have alot of cyber friends who look EXCELLENT, seriously, when they go out they look amazing and really well put together.
I remember one of my friends dressing up as a cyber pilot, too good.

Deathrock is amazing aswell. It's really raw and damn sensual.

They're two completely different looks, I don't know if they can be compared.

Do you drag your feet?

My boyfriend does the same thing as you do when wearing platforms, not often, but he does. He drags his feet and his spindly legs don't seem to go in a straight line. Really hard to describe.

It takes practice. Buy a pair of cheap heels and just wear them around the house to get used to them.

I'll admit, I used to dress cybery. Looking back now though...I think it's stupid as hell looking. The deathrock look is pretty k-rad.

Actually, no. You'd think that'd be the problem, but for me it actually isn't...My guy friend likes to comment on my "model's walk", which I think he means my feet go in a straight line and my strides are longish...my walk is powerful looking when I'm not falling. I'm just klutzy! I lose my balance when I get up from a chair, and I can somehow find things to trip over even when I'm walking over solid, level ground. Sad truth =P it probably has a lot to do with the fact my feet are a lot out of proportion to my height...I have giraffe legs and I'm 5'4". Most people that height that I know wear a size 7 or 8 or 9 women's, but I have stayed at a size 5 for four years. The fact that heels decrease the area of shoe that actually touches the ground probably doesn't help.

I would actually go MORE cyber, but I can't really pull off blues or cold colors at all. So... brass and copper, baby...

I vote BOTH!!!! I love the aesthetics drawn from both, so it would be unfair to choose just one.

Taking into consideration what I've noticed about the deathrock style, while I do admire it for its own reasons, I don't think I'd ever be able to pull it off.

I'm just a little japanese girl. That should be all the reason I need for loving cyber anything really. Lol. While I'm just barely starting to get the hang of making cyber foamy falls n such, I do argree with Kontan that being able to pull off the cyber look requires a bit of fashion savvy.

Worry not Electrosexual, I'd vote cyber too if I HAD to pick one.

Lately, I've noticed myself getting more into a cyber/Jules Verne style of cyber....something. I haven't a clue what you'd call it, but it's a mix of that. Not steam punk, that's going a little too far back. Think Tokyo Godfathers mixed with Karas mixed with Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. (If that made ANY sense.)

Anyways, it's really tough to compare fashions when the genres are so different. I think it's pretty obvious of which fashion I'm in favour of.

To further add, not all 'cybergoths' wear ripped up fishnets or fashion their hair into some variant of deathawk. Also, to say that 'cybergoths' can't dress to save their lives is a harsh generalization and should be re-evaluated. Of course there will always be the bad apples (just like any fashion), but don't let them speak for the rest who can probably out-dress you anyday.

Another point I'd like to address, is the lack of credit given to the cybers for their DIY handywork. Not everything is store bought off the shelf. Granted there are people who sell falls on ebay, I'd rather make my own. It takes a lot of time and patience to make. Same can be said for goggle modding and make-up application. It's not a 5 minute job to deck yourself out. There is a lot of effort involved.

I find the Deathrock style to be much more visually pleasing than the Cyber look.

Traditionally, I like deathrock style. I mean each person has their own style that looks good on them, but as a whole. However if more cybers looked lke Saddiction I think I would have to change my vote.

Saddiction is a good example of cyber. So is the lead singer of Angelspit.

I have yet to fully pull off an all out cyber look for myself. I always end up looking somewhat steam or post apocalyptic. But this weekend... is a different story. Well... it would be... if I could get some weft clips.

I can't really chose. So I'll say both. I don't dress either of them. I might be overkilling this but......as i've said before I'm a punk!
