What the fuck do you know? You can't even spell their name right.

Metallica is fucking garbage. They put out two good albums and everyone shits their pants. Everything after Justice For All was complete and utter shit. There's so many bands that have been putting out good material consistently the whole time Metallica's been selling out to the nu-metal fuckers like yourself, and they get no credit.

The only halfway talented member of the band is Hammet, and he still gets shat all on by Hetfield trying to be as much of a self absorbed cunt as Dave Mustaine.

Fucking Christ I hate Metallica. Not as much as I hate Slayer, but close.

Oh, and get the fuck outta my city, cunt.

Eh, they're okay, but I think they've passed their prime. :/

Most of the bands I listen to aren't likely to win any awards like that, and I consider them -far- better than Metallica or any other poppy music. Eh, c'est la vie.

Metallica?

Jesus Christ, this thread smells like Bengay and Metamucil.

Metallica went to shit as soon as they embraced the whole "metal cowboy" cliche years ago. The 1st time a really hard metal band puts on fancy boots and cowboy hats they should just be lined up and shot in the head.

You know who aren't in the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame?
King Crimson, Blue Oyster Cult, and Grand Funk Railroad.
...And if I recall correctly, Grandmaster Flash is in there.

Wait... are they trying to imply that they don't let black people into the Rock Hall of Fame? Was Chuck Berry excluded all those years?

No, they're trying to imply that they are more rock & roll than any of the people they're insulting....which I find laughable.

Can't say that I have, I really don't pay attention to a lot of mainstream stuff anymore. What is it though?

But apparently it's awesome if a gothic rock band does it? See: Fields of the Nephilim

Metallica: Some Kind of Monster. The "acclaimed" documentary which was shot during the recording of St. Anger. Watch it at least once. Anymore than that and you're just a fucking masochist.

Yeah, I know. I'm kinda disappointed with them as well--at least visually. No surprise that they're one of the bands featured in Mercer's Gothic Rock Black Book. All I can say in their defense is they didn't seem to change their sound as much as Metallica did. I just feel like when Metallica went cowboy it impacted their sound as well as their looks while Fields of the Nep. didn't seem to change their music so much when they did it.

What Mick Mercer thinks has no relevance to me. Nephilim didn't go cowboy all-of-a-sudden; they were pretty much always like that. Maybe that's why they're not derided for it. I even remember one of their early EPs praising the glories of the old west.

This thread makes me laugh. It doesn't matter what their image or genre is. You either like their music or you don't. Seriously, some people on this board are really fucking stupid.

Probably. Blue Oyster Cult have had two big hits, nine charted singles, and every original album they released from 1972 until the '90s also charted. What's more, KISS used to open for them, they toured with Black Sabbath in the early '80s, were a significant influence on Metallica (among many other metal bands), and their most well known song ("Don't Fear the Reaper") is still frequently played on Classic Rock stations.
