Oaky's great - his mixes are awesome, especially Travelling. Man, I wish I hadn't lost that CD....
But why isn't BT up there?

Nine Inch Nails produces Industrial music, not Techno. Contrary to popular belief, there is a difference. A big one. Get it?

Shouldn't that be 'best electronic music' or something?
What's a 'techno BAND' anyway? Usually it's just the one
person making the music.
Anyway, I like Tiga, Cex, Ladytron and a lot of the
WARP stuff. They're releasing their entire catalogue
on MP3 next month, by the way.

I think Devonshire is a troll. I am banning them.
Nobody in the world could be so stupid as to post crap like this here and expect to be taken seriously.

Orbital is another good source of music, but I voted for moby just because I actually know more than one of his songs.

I hate to burst your bubble, but none of those are "techno." You can only classify them all together as Electronic music or Electronica. Techno is only one genre of Electronic music. The list goes on and on:
Techno
Drum and Bass
Breakbeats
Trip Hop
Downtempo
Trance
Gabber
Hardcore
Hard House
House
They can even be broken down more than that. Like I said, the list of genres go on and on.

I thought Skinny Puppy was industrial?? :? I don't know, I don't really care or know much about what makes a genre. Though I thought techno was just the weird stuff with repetitive electronic beats and hardly any vocals, or is that called dance music? Oh well, who cares...

Excuse me, has no one here ever heard of Underworld or The Chemical Brothers?
This, obviously assuming that "techno" is being referred here as any sort of electronic based music, which would make me include VNV Nation.

Truth. There are many styles within styles that compose Tech...
In fond rememberance of my psychohorrortrance room... there remains the one... GOATRANCE. Through spiritual awareness... beats echoing repeatedly and rhythmatically like darkwaves washing upon every grain of sand that composes your beach stirringly along with twinkling melodies falling like snowflakes of preciousness upon the bloodydriven snowfield of your mindful empty_ness.
Modernly primitive in it's trance invoking seas
swimming free transcendental and psychedelically.
As the elfarrow shoots into your heart of hearts...
.J.U.N.O..R.E.A.C.T.O.R.
The godfathers!
Ain't no body...does it better...makes me happy...makes me feel this way!!!
Allow the reactor to psychedelically warp your fagile little mind!
And while you're at it...
XENOMORPH
DARK SOHO
PARASENSE
SPACE TRIBE
TALAMASCA
Spiritualspacendentally killing sweetly.
*pssst...houston...we have a problem...*
*we've been sucked into darkstars blackhole...continue communique psychically...sweetly*

General Electronica, Techno and Trance make up about a fifth of my listening material. Moby's older stuff is good, in my opinion, but it just got too repetative, especially after 'Everything is Wrong'. My current selections include DJ Kosmonova, Darude, Aura, Ayla, and some Cynic Project on the side.
