Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Firstly, grammar is most appreciated. I don't feel like deciphering a pidgin every time I feel like reading a post...
You do realize that you are on gothic.net, not emo.net, right?
I'm sure there are online emo communities that would be far better to ask.
And to answer you question, the only emo band I can think of off the top of my head is rites of spring.

Why would you want to be emo without even knowing what emo music is?
But fine, whatever, it's better you asked us than many others.
First of all, don't think 'emo' means being whiny and oh-so-sensitive. That's just bullshit.
As for music, think not of MCR (please) but on Rites of Spring, Quicksand, and Fugazi.

I recommend doing your fucking English homework, and not aspiring to something you know nothing about just because you heard about it on TV.
Barring that, suicide.

Emo is an adjective, not a noun.
It is used to describe a certain genre of music.
If you want to get into emo music, try Mineral, Moss Icon and Sunny Day Real Estate.
If you don't care and all you want is a scene haircut and to wear very brightly coloured tight jeans and to try to seem as whimsical and eccentric as possible, do that and don't bother us about it. 'Kay?

Listen to what you like, and behave/dress it's way, if you like some pop, you can't be emo, plus if you just want to be emo, you'll be so fake, do you know that ?
I know few emos that listen to Paramore, is that emo ?

I don't listen to emo, and while I don't actively put emo fans/people down, I do find the movement, especially those who fulfill the stereotypes, to be somewhat annoying. I will offer that the only emo band I really know of is My Chemical Romance. Whatever you do, please be true to yourself. Also, proper grammar is a virtue.

Emo isn't anything. It's just a the new MTV trend like "The Jonas Brothers," and "Ashley Simpson."

My apologies. Since it wasn't spelled out, it didn't click. I do that alot with bands...someone referred to MSI once, and I didn't know who they were talking about until they actually said Mindless Self Indulgence. Not that I like their music, but I had heard of them before...same with MCR...Besides, I know nothing of emo music and don't particularly care for any of it that I've heard.

emo-jane. I've told you this before and I'll say it again. The sight you're looking for is emo-corner.com
How fucking hard is that?
This is GOTHIC.net. This isn't like Vampire Freaks or anything like that. Emos here don't usually last past 10 posts so do yourself and us a favour and leave.
I think that said it. For like the fourth time anyway.

It's all a fad/trend. If you want to mention the genre of music, sure go ahead, but yeah.
