What is goth?
Two things: First, Lifeless isn't far from the truth, Goth is way more than fashion and music. The way I see it, Goth first and foremost is an aesthetic sense, one which finds beauty and is interested in the darker aspects of life_ and considering that it is an aspect of human experince it's fair ground for exploration by humans (which is to say: not really wierd). Fashion and the music is an expression of this aesthetic but it's expressions and the aesthetic are two different things and the latter is primary.
Second: Concerning a comment made by Murder of Crows to the effect that he loves it when people come on a Goth site and try to define what it means to be Goth. What the fuck is wrong with this, it's a Goth website isn't it? I joined this website to talk about Goth and what, that's not allowed?

To respond to your second comment you're missing the point. Murder of Crows has the perfect right to say whatever he wants to say, I'm not quetioning this. I merely wonder at the sense of the comment he did make.

Maybe that you come asking what 'goth' is and then go on answering your own question (erroneously, by the way) as if you knew better than us because you were blessed by the goth fairy or some shit.

Yup, what Alan said. If you wanted to ask what Goth was i'm sure a lot of people would take it kindly and answer you, but you came here telling people what Goth is, to people who identify as Goth. Now where is reason and sense there?

First, if your goth and you are on a goth web site then you practically should know what it is.
Second, There is no actual definition to goth, its not in the dictionary, its not in the books, its in your head and your life. The way how you express it is the way how it is (also how it resembles to the culture).
Third, Goth is the Germanic tribe not the subculture, its spelled with a lower case 'g' unless it is in beginning the sentence.
No one is really going to ask you what it is, so just introduce your self.

Hello to everyone...
Spookycreep is back with proper introductions (rustle of baby bat wings).
My name is still Spookycreep_after wiping the mud and egg off it. I am a military brat. I have two brothers of which I am the infamous middle child (the one that get's ingnored and likes it half the time.) Sadly, I have parents too, one dead (father) the other doing a damn good imitation.
At 17 I developed an extreme case of Agoraphobia. For those who might not know this is the fear of crowds, public places or people in a general sense. What do I mean by extreme?
I couldn't eat in public.
I was too convinced that everyone was watching and ready to find fault with me.
I couldn't eat at my own table with my own family if we had new guest eating with us.
The highschool cafeteria? Forget the fuck out of that, I learned to find some where on the school grounds where I could be safe and ALONE to eat my lunch.
This is just a tiny bit of what I mean by an extreme case.
Here's another extreme thing: I put up with this Nightmare for 15 years. How did I manage to wake up from it?
Satanism. I'ts been my experience that good can come from bad if you learn how to look for it. For example, I now see my illness as having been a "shamans sickness". It's a long story about how I broke free_ and ironic as hell too_ I'd be glad to tell it if anyone is interested.
My favorite horror movie is DAWN OF THE DEAD. Some of my favorite writers: Bradbury Poe Lovecraft, Barker, and yes even King.
Favorite book: The Fountain Head by Ayn Rand(the woman's ideas played a large part in saving my life.)

Just roll me up in a big ole' sheet of Tops rolling paper and burn.
These days I write horror fiction and have a nonfiction book on Satanism that i've been working on for years.
I am a single, have had two girl friends in my entire life. Still alone most of the time but BIG BIG SIGH no longer shaking in my boots.
