What cheers you up?

When your feeling angry or sad what do you do to cheer yourself up?

Normally I make my World famous (well, more like neighborhood famous) Bacon-and-peanut butter cookies. They're a lot more delicious than they sound.

What cheers me up, though?

Silly thoughts about other people enjoying bacon and peanut butter concoctions; taking my neices to see tween movies (So Twilight is probably on my agenda. Please forgive them, o high-brows of G.Net, they are but 9 and 11.)...

But kickboxing at Finney's, Highland dancing with Jenn, Belly with Ami and just yoga time on the mat, fists against the bag, and a husband holding the mitts... sweating so much I lose leverage.

And Muppets.

I love the idea of "the Muppet Show" being an acted as an amateur production... but the actual show being run by professionals.

We will always and forever miss Jim Henson.

His son Brian carries the torch, but he bears the burden of excelling in his own right, but following the footsteps of a father whose genius is the stuff of legends. He will always pale in that comparison.

As always--

Muh nah muh nah!

When I'm upset my mate will usually have something to cheer me up with. Be it a line from a funny movie or TV show it's usually enough to make me crack up even when I'm sad.

Last time it was when I got dumped. He said to me "You wanna go take a dump in mother Maggie's shoes?".
I couldn't help but smile at that haha.

I usually just fantasize about shoving my hands through the chest cavities of random people, or I stare at cars and try to make them explode with my mind. After that doesn't work, I spend a couple hours pirating music, books, and movies off the internet. When I get bored with that, I read for a few hours, or play Guild Wars, or have sex with my wife, or watch some cartoons. I'm usually pretty good after that.

I rarely get upset, but when I do I tend to distract myself with other activities. Listen to some music, play a video game, write, or otherwise turn my anger into a means for creativity

Edit: But yeah.. envisioning yourself punching holes through the chest cavities of strangers is also a good stress reliever as well. x__x

Trust me, They are awesome!! Whenever I'm feeling down, I just pop some in the oven, Usually by the time they're done, the smell alone has cheered me up.

I've also tried chocolate chip and bacon cookies, but their not quite as good as peanut butter.

Root beer floats, talking to my girl on when we're both not working, Tootsie rolls, watching Craig Ferguson, funny books, and yes, the Muppets -- especially the crotchety old geezers.

When I'm angry, usually music. If I'm really frustrated and angry I have fits of rage which usually involve hurling things around. If I'm sad I tend to get very drunk, if I'm very sad I get angry because I'm sad.

Yah, same here. Yay for depressive tendencies. What cheers me up is usually a hug from my sweetie, or a really big cup of jasmine-lime tea cooler from Peet's

I envy you, I don't have anyone to give me a hug when I'm feeling down.

*sigh* once again I'm all alone with noone to love me...

EDIT: Sorry, I always feel a bit Emo in the mornings.

i find the hardest hitting heavy metal song i have and then play it at an obscene window rattling level. As i pace around my livng room like a caged animal. By the time the song is over the world is right again, at least i'm right with it. That is if i'm pissed the fuck off.

If i'm just sad i put on some piano music. Preferably Chopin. Then i'm right again.
