I like collecting magazines from other countries. Orkus is a good magazine. They stopped making it in English though a while ago. Meltdown magazine from UK was pretty good in the 90's . I picked some up off Ebay.

Since it's primarily a fashion magazine, and doesn't claim to be about the culture or anything, I"d have to say it's pretty good.

If someone can find me another Goth fashion magazine that's as inexpensive as GB and is local to the states, then I'd be glad to pick up an issue. [Fiend looks interesting, but $50 is a bit much to shell out just to check out a magazine.]

i didn't read all the posts but i must say that i agree in regards to Gothic Beauty begin absolute shit. the first time i heard about it i was so excited that there would be an intelligent, interesting magazine out there....etc.

what a horrible shock it was to read that dribble- i swear some 15 year old wrote it in their angst closet or the like. some of the articles didn't even make sense like alone contain anything interesting, plus many photographs are pretty bad and the album reviews were terrible.

now i am grateful to pay $10 for imported magazines, even if they are two months late. speaking of which, GB can't even organize themselves the be released on a regular schedual as i remember. three words - what the fuck?!

Um, yeah it is.
It's not every month, it's once every three months.

Gothic Beauty is a literary masterpiece in comparison to the recent Australian 'Immaculate Heart' magazine. Just imagine about 30 pages of badly set up photo shoots with hideous 'alternative' girls in hideous 'alternative' clothes and that's pretty much it. It even has an article on how to make your myspace pictures look professional, so you can get the all important 'pc4pc'.

that also sounds pretty fucking gay (in a bad way)
i gave up on gothic mags - it's just metal mags and 'the economist'
'wired' is also really good.

New Scientist and the occasional Drop Dead keep me perfectly satisfied.

Gothic beauty looks more like advertising zine for clothing and other stores. I really don't care much for the articles. Once in a while they will say something good.
I feel like it's a good place to start.
I won't say it's horrible but I won't say it's the best thing out there either.

Heh. If I was 10+ years younger, and could get away with it, I'd totally try the Dreadfalls thing. XD
