New Pale Makeup Line

I've never heard of this so-called "band" or any of these girls, but it's nice to know that non-gothic people are starting to embrace their paleness as well. After all, it's healthier than a real tan, and much better looking than the bottled orangey-ness that most mainstream women sport these days.

"Pale-faced Girls Aloud star Nicola launches new make-up range... but has she gone too far?"

An aside: That girl has an odd nose. Makes me think of Michael Jackson in drag or something. *waits to be pummeled*

Pale skin appears to be coming into fashion atm.

I was looking through a vogue magazine that belongs to my mother and was surprised at the amount of pale models all of a sudden.
It's nice to know people aren't going to look like satsumas for ever.

I personally find pale skin beautiful. My girlfriend is amazingly pale and I, among many of my friends, are envious of her skin tone. Pale skin is gorgeous, tans make me think of cooked chicken.

eeeeep Girls Aloud!

I dont care how many goth points I lose, I LOVE THEM.

They're pretty big over here in the UK and Ireland. They were created on a reality television show, similar to your "American Idol".

Compared to other "manufactured" acts nowadays, girls aloud have a very distinctive sound and their style is FIERCE!

I feel bad for Nicola, because she was always looked upon as the "ugly" one. I always liked her though ^.^ The other girls looked a bit too rough. And Nicola's unique! And yay she's releasing a pale makeup line now ^-^.

Call The Shots and Something Kinda Ooh were always my favourite songs by them:

wow...never expected that from a Girls Aloud member.

Does that mean I can now buy foundation without having to trawl through London to get it? NICE!

I take it that Girls Aloud is a television show. I've never seen it or heard of it until now.

Actually, I think that Girls Aloud are much better, both musically and visually than the Spice Girls. Having said that, I think the girls of Spice Girls had much nicer personalities than of Girls Aloud. But still, I just prefer the way Girls Aloud's music and image was manufactured.

She really is. I think it's just because all the other girls are "conventionally" pretty, she may appear ugly beside them. But I think she is by far the most beautiful and seems like the nicest of the girls.

I love the way whoever wrote that article is basically saying "euw! She's so PALE! Man, this has gone too far." Meanwhile, the other girls in the picture look like they're one fake bake away from skin cancer.

Pale skin can be hot, but face-white looks fucking stupid. Especially when they forget to do their neck and shoulders.

It will be the new mainstream from now on I think. The thing is:

1. When tan became so popular it was several decades ago and was a status symbol, as in...year round the rich could just fly to the tropics or go wherever when they wanted to. Now it's not so true, people are more mobile, commercial airplanes are not so new and expensive for an average person. People also have more leisure time and can do whatever if they are in warmer place.

2. The last few years tan has been slowly dying off to an extent (similar to smoking but not as severe) as people in the general public are more aware of the cancer issues and also the way in which it ages your skin. Obviously even those that would risk cancer are doing tanning to LOOK good and more people are aware of the skin damage it does not too. There are not longer tanning salons on every corner like there were for many, many years. Almost every big brand has several foundations and skin (face) creams with SPF in now.

3. Right now specifically there is a HUGE retro fashion trend coming back. Bigger than I have seen in the last 20+ years that I have paid attention to fashion. This will be strong for a season or two but will last in the public for several years and have influence like all trends do. Fredrick's of Hollywood is selling corsets, Wal-mart is selling seamed back stockings, target is selling little A line 50's skirts. Victoria's secret has a retro swim line out. The last two issues of Vanity fair the cover looks like a photoshoot from the late 40's and early 50's hollywood. These are very, very mainstream, common places. Simply put if people want to look like Marilyn Monroe or Rita Hayworth, you can't look like you just got back from 3 weeks in Brazil, you need a 'fair' look.

I think Pale isn't really the IN thing but will be the common, mainstream thing pretty soon.

It's about time more people started appreciating (or at least considering) paleness good for her!

Sunlight! Must flee!

Anyways, I hope that this comes to America.

Sooo, I just need to know... where the fuck can I buy this shit!!!???

Great idea, but I can't find it to buy it! I've always had this problem that even the palest makeup is too dark for my skin.

Yes, it allows you to get a little closer to your own tone that way.
